Max Subscription Development

I am on the fence about Pro or Max. I am not deep in original lanquages as a researcher but I started Max about a year and a half ago expecting Max would be developed a bit more than Pro in other areas; it just didn't happen. I am now looking to move to an annual plan. If I stay with Max Ianother six-months I get to keep the legacy fallback features so I hate to drop down now. Simply stated there is not much that has been developed in the way of Max features beyond Pro. So if I commit to a year of Max subscription now, I lose a few dollars over Pro. In leased resouces I loseThe Cambridge Bible, EBTC, and EEC - I own much of the rest unique to Max. Bottomline I guess, has anyword heard anything being further develoed in Max that might sway me to hold on another year?

l looked at the plan comparrison @ https://www.logos.com/configure/subscriptions?msockid=149cb412b13361252929a150b0e760da&trackId=191 I then went to the features tab and compared Pro to Max. I have to assume these are the features referenced in the fallback unless some datasets are also included.

The whole legacy fallback thing is still unclear as a clear list has not been started. So whatever is clearly offline and non-AI should be included. November is only 9 months away so it would be nice to hear something from Logos to reassure current subscribers. Nothing has been announced and every time I ask Logos I get silence in response.

Yes I did the 2-year thing too when the subs were announced, based on the promise that I would keep features should I decide not to subscribe. As others have said, I have no idea what I will keep and what I will lose, other than AI stuff, which I understand. I might subscribe again and I might not. It's hard to decide when I don't have all the facts.

If I don't subscribe, I dread all the in-program ads non-subscribers are talking about. I think that is very very bad on Logos' part. I will erode customer loyalty and purchases. Logos, non-subscribers know you have a subscription option; stop bugging people about it.

The comment I posted above got me thinking.

For context, I started in the Libronix days, just before "Series X" came out. I've spent thousands of dollars over the roughly 25 years since.

Something changed and I can pinpoint when it happened. It's not subscriptions, though I think there should be a better option for those who don't want to subscribe. I was on the previous subscription program for several years before the current one. Unless things change, it is cheaper to subscribe than the old way of upgrading features every two years.

So what changed and when? It was when Bob sold the company and the holding company took over. The "feel" of Logos changed. It is hard to describe, as it is a feeling. I could point to certain things but here are the real-world results for me:

1) I have spent FAR less money in the last couple of years, even though I am a subscriber. I may nor may not subscribe in November for another 2 years (see my post above).

2) I post in the forums much less and I read them less.

3) I am less excited about the program in general, though some features have been useful. In general though, it has become bloated and I wish there was a way to hide features I will never use, similar to how you can hide books.

4) I used to be a Logos evangelist, and now I barely talk about it with my ministry friends anymore.

5) Not a fact per se, but I don't feel like Logos is listening to its customers as it did in the past.

I know those are feelings and not facts, but those feelings have changed my behavior and attitude toward the company and the program.

I don't have hard solutions. But the holding company makes Logos feel like it's owned by a holding company and that is eroding my enthusiasm and trust.

Not really what @Kevin Houghtaling is talking about but kinda.

FALSE. The option to switch off ads is available to subscribers, and recent base package owners.

Not disagreeing per se, but that's L10'ers? And the nags still on mobile (vs desktop banners … don't know desktop homepage).

@Don Awalt I hear you, but if you are not a subscriber and you have not purchased a RECENT package, people are getting bombarded. I appreciate you pointing out what you did, but what constitutes "recent?"

Didn't Adam confirm my assumtion? He says the option to turn off ads is available to SUBSCRIBERS. What about non-subscribers? That is who I'm talking about.

Willing to be corrected but that is the way I am reading it.

@Don Awalt should read the other threads on this.

Logos did respond to complaints about nagware and ads by putting a switch which is supposed to turn off banner ads only. But many, subscribers included, report that it is either inconsistent or does not work at all. Non-subscribers have it greyed-out.

Maybe they will allow some people to eliminate in program ads (like they give everyone a choice on email ads?).

But it is my view that Bible software should never contain ads to begin with.
