I am not getting Hebrew word pronunciation but instead the tool is sounding out the letters on certain words. Here's the details:
In Is. 2:21, first word, בוא, when I click pronounce (right button pop up/context sensitive menu) the S/W is speaking the individual letters, rather than pronouncing the word out loud. I see this behavior in both LHI and Lexham Hebrew Bible, as well as the Pronunciation tool and Info Tool. I know that it does it on Yahweh, but that's could be by design (which is understandable). I don't see this behavior on every word, but just occasionally (at least one other word in the past besides YHWH). When I look at the language options in the Pronunciation Tool my options are limited to Aramaic Lemmas, English Factbook entries, Greek Lemmas (Erasmian), Greek Lemmas (Koine), Greek Lemmas (Modern), and Hebrew Lemmas. But if this is working properly shouldn't I be seeing the "Hebrew Pronunciations (Booth)" option? Does this mean I'm not actually using the modern Feature Set?!? Note also that in About Logos it says I have Logos 7 (which is in Red and is recommending that I "Consider Purchase"). Does that mean I'm not using the Logos 10 engine? About Logos says I'm running S/W version 50. Do I need Logos to manually refresh my 'Feature Set' license, and/or 'Force a Sync' or 'Refresh the Licenses' on their end. Or is this behavior actually "working as designed"? Is this word just not in the dataset?
Here's a description of what happened when I called Customer support: He was able to replicate the problem on his end. And checked with others on his team. Basically, he came to the conclusion that the S/W is "working as designed". He said that my Hebrew Pronunciation Dataset is not missing and that I have both Logos 7 Silver and 10 Silver and said that was all good (despite the fact that my "About Logos" says I have Logos 7 in Red, and recommends I upgrade). He told me that About Logos only displays the original Library version when you initially purchased Logos, not upgraded Libraries purchased later? Is that true? I came away from the call feeling a little unsure/uneasy/ not confident.
Bottom Line: My question to you all is what do you think is going on here? I understand that certain very short words (of which this is one) may default to this behavior of speaking the letters instead of pronouncing the full word. Is this just a case of this word is not in the Hebrew Pronunciation database (and there are a few others)? Are the developers aware of this issue? Or is it just "working as designed"?
Bit of a long diatribe, but any insights that you all could provide would be greatly appreciated.
My Configuration: Windows 11, Max Subscription, Logos 7 Silver (original) upgraded to Logos 10 Silver (prior to subscription).
