I would like to suggest the inclusion of the Joseph Ratzinger Collected Works (Word on Fire Academic edition) in the Logos catalog.
This is a major new publishing project undertaken by Word on Fire Academic, which has been granted the exclusive English-language rights by the Vatican’s publishing house to translate and publish the collected works of Joseph Ratzinger.
The series will comprise approximately 25 volumes and will be released gradually over the coming years, making available a vast body of Ratzinger’s theological writings—many of which have never been translated into English before.
This collection represents one of the most important scholarly projects in contemporary Catholic theology. It spans the full range of Ratzinger’s thought, including Christology, ecclesiology, liturgy, fundamental theology, and his interpretation of Vatican II.
From a Logos perspective, this resource would be uniquely valuable for several reasons:
- It would provide a systematic and authoritative edition of Ratzinger’s theological corpus in English
- It would significantly enhance Logos’ already strong Catholic library
- It would support advanced research in theology, philosophy, and biblical studies
- It would serve seminarians, clergy, scholars, and serious lay readers
Moreover, given the central role of Joseph Ratzinger in 20th- and 21st-century theology—and the growing academic and ecclesial interest in his work, especially in view of the 2027 centenary of his birth—this project is likely to become a standard reference point for future scholarship.
Logos already includes many individual works by Ratzinger. Integrating this new critical English edition would allow users to engage his thought in a more unified, structured, and academically reliable way.
For all these reasons, this would be an outstanding and highly strategic addition to the Logos ecosystem.
Thank you very much for your consideration!
