I received my DVD today for Learning Biblical Greek and it said Media Player 12 required. I have Windows Vista do I need to upgrade to Windows 7 to use Media Player 12 or will it play in Vista.
MP 12 is not available as yet for Vista - apparently it will be offered via Windows Update when ready.
If MP12 is required that means Win 7 only but you should see if the DVD will play in Vista!
EDIT: the product description only states it is optimised for MP12 or Quicktime 7.
You don't have to have Windows Media PLayer (WMP) 12, if you have Qicktime (QT) 7.6.6
All the video files are in QT's mov format (which WMP should play). QT 7.6.6 will run on XP, Vista, or Win7.
Thanks Dave
The paperwork with my DVD says requirded and gives a download link, but I guess I'll just have to wait for the Vista update. It won't play on my computer but I've had trouble with my DVD player before. Anyway tahnks for your reply
Thanks Richard
I also noticed your post on moving the files to my HD.
You don't have to wait for the Vista update. QuickTime is available for free now and you can download it and run it on Vista. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Even I who am a former Microsoftee, Windows defender, and somewhat resistant to Apple products, use it (as well as iTunes running on Windows). You should have no problem viewing the DVD content with it.
Thanks to all of you.
Your replies were very helpful. I have QT 7 now and have moved my files to my HD. I've already watched lesson 1 & 2 and they're great.
