Guys,
I may have an opportunity to obtain one of these older collections. I just wanted to check here to see if there are any known compatibility issues with L3.
Thanks all,
ekkie
Logos 2.0 = Logos Library System = LLS ... File System was dual *.lix + *.lsf
Series X = Libronix Digital Library System = LDLS = L3 ... File system was *.lbxlls
Logos4 is the current version. It reads all of the file formats, though the older LLS files don't have all the functionality of the newer formats.

Actually Logos 3 came after Series X (see http://wiki.logos.com/Contents_of_Discontinued_Base_Packages) but I believe Don's right that the file format was the same. It was just a marketing thing to rename it and repackage it and do some new base packages.
Anyway every new version is backward compatible with old file formats, though you sometimes have to jump through some hoops to get the licensing to work properly, but Customer Service can help with it in any cases where you have difficulty. Just make sure what you're buying is a new never installed product, or if it's used, that the person selling it to you will transfer the license to you (Logos charges a nominal fee for this), otherwise you will not be able to use it.
Thanks folks,
I'm a new L3 user and I've been reading through several threads on this forum. I understood that the books were *mostly* agnostic to the Logos version, though I recall a thread or two mentioning that some licenses/books/series were not being carried forward. I didn't know how old the Logos Series X was and hadn't seen it mentioned by others on this forum, so I wanted to get your feedback.
Appreciate the expedient replies!
