About the ACCS
The Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture does what very few of today's students of the Bible could do for themselves. You know, I assume, that this sort of breach of etiquette led Logos to impose forums rules that it asks us to enforce internally. Please edit your posts ... there have been multiple offenders in the last few days. And posting as a quote presents exactly the same problems as the original.

Those of us who purchased the Vol 1 CD, 12 vols, know that this is a great resource. We'll also be interested to see what IVP and Logos can do to allow us an upgrade path. I'd rather purchase through Logos than through a competitor, if the price is fair.

I have a question that are raised by the various advertisements I see for this set:
- Some sites are offering separate editions for the Mac and for the PC - can anybody verify this? If it is true, you will need to be careful as to which edition you are purchasing.

What IVP calls the "Windows Version" and the "Macintosh Version" are really the Logos version and the Accordance version, respectively. So if
you have Logos4Mac, you should still get the Windows version, but you might have to jump through some hoops to get the license activated (like installing Logos3 for Windows, or calling support). Or you could wait until it's available on logos.com in a platform-independent, downloadable version (probably the easiest way).MacBook Pro (2019), ThinkPad E540

Thanks Todd - the sites where I saw the two versions did not make this clear at all - just Windows version and Mac version. In fact, I began my price search with the Mac version - and saw the problem before I placed my order.
Is there a link on the LOGOS site to where this can be purchased for L4? If not, it might be appropriate to give some hints as to where users can purchase it - even if it goes against the EULA.

Just like CDs from Publishing Partners in the past it will probably include the core program, the books of the collection and the KJV.

No more or less than any other version of Logos 4. If you want to keep up to date you will have to connect at some time.

That depends on if Logos has added .Net Framework 4 to Logos 4 at the time the CDs are pressed. By mid to late summer I would think Logos will have done this.
4) Will this work with Logos Version 3?
Probably only by installing the L4 CD, making sure L4 has synced the license and syncing your copy of L3 and then downloading the books from Logos' FTP.
5) Does it really matter anyway?
I am sure for some people it will, but very few.

I'm skeptical about this. The Complete Set product page on the IVP website has the Libronix logo on the box image and the system requirements on that page are definitely not Logos 4 system requirements [:P]:

The Complete Set product page is accessible from the Future Books page under "October", and I was looking at that image on that page. It says Libronix Digital Library System 4.0, and it has the old Libronix logo. So, in spite of the "4.0" designation, it seems to be branded incorrectly, which probably means that it's a pre-production image. Plus see the minimal hardware requirements on that page: if it is Logos4 based, I hope people aren't buying it hoping it runs on a machine described by those requirements.

I'm really dis-heartened at the fact that I had just bought and opened the Vol I CD-Rom version for $270, when I could have just waited another month for the full version for $240.
I am upset that a company would be so money grubbing as to pull such a scheme on the customers. Why couldn't they put the ALL of the books on one cd???
This makes me angry.
This is not fair... This is a greedy, greedy deception.

If you did not buy it from Logos, then no you can't. I thought you were angry at Logos for the deception. Now it appears maybe you meant IVP. If you bought it from them directly or from a Christian book retailer or Amazon.com, I'm not sure Logos can do anything for you with respect to a refund. But do call Customer Service to ask.
As you probably know, over time sometimes products come down in cost. When this first volume was produced, the price was probably set fairly. Then as the remaining volumes were being completed, perhaps it became clear that it would be more cost effective for them to sell it in a bundle so the price came down. Just as if you bought a PC years ago you would have paid twice as much (or more) as what you'd pay now for an even more powerful PC. It's an unfortunate legacy of the online sales mechanism that old products lying around sometimes still sell for the higher prices that were set for them when they were first produced. Probably something should be done to bring the prices down to be fairer given future product availability, but that does take time and human interaction and sometimes people overlook these things. I hope you will forgive whoever is responsible for that oversight. And I hope you'll get satisfaction on the refund and will be happy with the multi-volume product once it is available.
