Archos 9 PC Tablet - L4?

Will Logos 4 run on the Archos 9 pctablet? It's supposedly runs windows 7 as the OS (Windows® 7 Starter Edition, whatever that is).

I just found a review of the hardware... its' probably not going to be able to handle L4. Pretty old processor version and not enough memory.

I own a PC Tablet netbook running Win 7 Starter Edition. It does run LOGOS reasonably well. I do not have a top of the line machine, so I may be satisfied with less than ideal. However, I am satisfied with its performance when compared to my other machines.
On the other hand, I am less than satisfied with my netbook's job as a tablet. Having owned four tablets (XP, Vista, Win7 Starter, and Win7 Home Premium), the netbook is my least favorite tablet. I use it as a mobile system and it works great for that purpose - just not as a a tablet.

Check out the review at laptopmag. They really didn't like the archos 9.
The lenovo s10-3t has gotten decent reviews. But not exceptional. Acer was supposed to get an 11.6" tablet to the US sometime earlier this year but they've pretty much dropped the ball on that one. Not a lot of great tablet options for windows 7 right now. Plus after using it on older tablet hardware (win7 and logos), I don't think I want a windows tablet. IPad is still really expensive though and lacking features vs. The desktop logos, so I settled for an iPod touch. It solo depends on your needs and budget. A kindle (refurbished ones are cheap right now) might work for basic reading, assuming you can get wifi or 3G where you want to look at logos resources.0 -

I am not at home right now and am using one of the other tablets (note what I said about the tablet functions above). I will try to reply tonight or tomorrow - be patient, but I will be back to you.

Here is a description of the system I purchased:
I increased the installed RAM to 2 GB. The link is to the Amazon page from which I purchased the system - since LOGOS does not sell computers, I doubt I am breaking the forum rules.
I use the system for two major purposes - LOGOS and as a GPS (using MS Streets and Trips). I have not found it to be a useful Tablet PC - a similarly equipped netbook would have worked just as well. Except for its use as a Tablet PC, I am satisfied with is operation - but I do not own any kind of high power system to compare it to.
If you have other questions, feel free to ask.

Hp just started shipping their tm2-2050us convertible tablet Win7-based PC. They make it hard to find...it appears on their website only as the "quick ship" model. The recent update was to offer the i3 processor (and I believe slightly upgrade the graphics hardware).
If you are looking for a cheap tablet (in comparison to the business tablets from HP, Lenovo, MotionComputing, etc) that has a good chance of running L4 in tablet mode, this might be the one. Amazon sell variants of this.
I may buy one of these, but I'm waiting to see if HP starts offering it as a customizable PC and allows me to select an i5 processor and an SSD instead of its 5400 rpm "shaken, not stirred" hard disk.
For the same ballpark price as a 64 GB 3G iPad, this offers the full Logos experience along with room for your favorite study apps (like OneNote) and a real browser. And it's extra weight is like a free gym membership--basically win/win.

This is my preferred tablet (currently). I purchased mine at my local Sams Club. Though I was critical of the Gigabyte model (see above), I have enjoyed this new HP as much as my previous tablets - and, as I said about the Gigabyte model, it plays well with LOGOS. It comes with Win 7 Home Premium and 4 GB of RAM.

Floyd, thank you for that operational feedback--it is helpful.
I've agonized on what to buy all year; would have bought an iPad, but a vacation over-run ate that fund. Hopefully in the near future I'll have replenished my allowance envelope and can get to purchasing!

After months of waiting, I've finally saved up, taken the plunge and ordered the new HP tm2t Tablet with i5 processor and ATI HD 5450 external graphics.
It will take a couple weeks to build/ship, but am looking forward to being able to run the full Logos 4 (PC) software on it and have access to all my resources.
Once I save up and purchase a pico/1200x800 projector, I hope to be able to use it in one of the Bible Studies I teach.
