Beta withdrawal setting in.... Need for new features.... Need for missing features... Update Now, Update Now, Update Now.... It is an evil never ending cycle.... [:D]
It's still the holiday weekend, Frank. [ip] Relax, have some pizza: [pi]
I know Todd, but reading Bob's post in another thread where he mentioned Printing being "implemented" got me excited for a new Beta...
Well what do you think? You think Team Logos have been toiling away through the long weekend, inspired by the creative display of the July 4th fireworks, to give us a new beta with new features early in the week?
You think you have it bad? Pity those of us who have chosen to not join the Beta Test program. We have to wait, not two or three days, but two or three months. All will be well - I expect Bob thinks he is in control, but I expect God really is. (Bob - I expect you really have no problem with God being in control. But like the rest of us, you would, at times, like to think you are. [:)])

I don't understand. Why is that such an unreasonable expectation?
I agree...they OWE it to us.. [:D]
Whats in the forthcoming Beta?
Diagramming.. maybeExport/Sharing of x (notes/pbb/etc).. Possibly - NIghtmare (Due to document types not being contant but changing from machine to machine)Printing.. Not holding my breath..PBB.. Possibly but unlikely
unless the developers bring out an in between release with Sentence Diagramming, I am not expecting a new beta release before mid August especially if it has the "sharing" or the majority of missing features implemented..
I have a slightly different take on it ... also based on speculation
Speculation based on http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4
Speculation based on missing features http://www.logos.com/4/missingfeatures
Interestingly, although we've been promised the ability to share files, that feature is neither in the missing features list nor in the accepted section of user voice.
If forced to guess, I suspect word lists and vocabulary lists are likely candidates for the next beta simply because notes, clippings and passage lists have created a solid base. On the other hand, illustrations also has high overlap and video fits in with recent activity.
However, since I know that the world ought to revolve around me, I'll demand that the ability to use tables in notes should be the sole feature of the next beta. [:D]
I vote for the mind-reading feature that goes to the resource and passage I really want regardless of what I type in the go box. [H]
Based on some other posts (I can't remember enough key works to go look for them) I was certain the word lists would come out in 4.0c or d, boy was I wrong [:)]. I mention this to say that I think that the Word lists are a very probable feature in 4.0e. I imagine the architecture and UI will be very similar to Passage lists.
I am not expecting a new beta release before mid August
Yikes[:S] I'll need to check into rehab if that's true
All we have to go on are hints like this one from
http://community.logos.com/forums/p/18792/141920.aspx#141920
I think the release following 4.0d is going to make more than a few people happy... :-)

Does the wording of Bob's post make anyone wonder if they are going to name the next release 4.1?
I suspect that would only be appropriate when the "missing features" page is fulfilled. Now then, if that's what's planned for what I'm considering 4.0e .... LET'S DO IT!
I found this among some of Poe's lost first drafts:
<!--@page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } -->
Startled at the stillness broken by noreply so aptly spoken,`Doubtless,' said I, `what Logos utters isits only stock and store,Caught from some unhappy master whomunmerciful disasterFollowed fast and followed faster till no Betaburden bore -Till the dirges of this hope that melancholy burdenboreOf "Never-nevermore."'

I love that poem! And that draft should have been included to make it a complete tale of woe!
I am guessing that it will be a longer wait for this one than it was for 4.0c or 4.0d, because we were told that those two were minor releases with shorter beta cycles, and Bob has hinted that this next one is going to make people very happy, so I bet there are some major goodies in it. Thus I don't think it's reasonable to expect it so soon after 4.0d went gold. Maybe another two or three weeks?
Just for comparison:
4.0 gold Nov 24.0a Beta 1 Nov 20 (18 days)4.0a gold Dec 224.0b Beta 1 Jan 5 (14 days)4.0b gold Mar 154.0c Beta 1 Mar 18 (3 days)4.0c gold May 124.0d Beta 1 May 25 (13 days)4.0d gold June 29
My guess: earliest possible release of 4.0e (or 4.1?) Beta 1: July 16. More likely at least another week after that.
... Bob has hinted that this next one is going to make people very happy ...
Reading all above, it does not seem to be making many very happy yet [:S]
Besides, is everyone up-to-date on their reading plans?

That's good, I'll be home by then!
