Morphological Search not returning right results

I type the following search :
@N?[CEMR]
and I get only 85 results in 60 verses from Daniel and Ezra.
I get these results when I search the Entire Bible or the Ketubim. I get no results when I search the Pentateuch for instance.
WIVU returns no results for the following basic searches (in fact it never returned any results for me):
lemma:מֶלֶךְ.1
lemma:יצא@V?
hebrew:ישב@VqA?SM3
What am I doing wrong?
My Default Bible is BHS/WIVU

Without trying to duplicate the search in question, getting hits only in Daniel and Ezra makes me think you've got the Aramaic Morphology selected instead of the Hebrew.

I can't get any results with this code... in fact I can't figure out what it is because it doesn't look like a noun morph. Did you use the morph picker?

Thanks, but I cannot reproduce your searches. I get 0 results.
The first query I gave was in AFAT (their semantic codes)

As for the AFAT Search Mr. Setterholm is absolutely right. My default morph search turned out to be Aramaic (maybe it retains settings from last search?). In anyway this part is fixed now.
Only WIVU remains.
Thank You!

Ah, AFAT, that explains it, I was trying in WIVU, of course it didn't work!
I suspect an indexing problem. Try an experiment. Right click on any word in WIVU, select "Lemma" in the right hand side of the context menu and then click "Search this resource." If that search does not bring up any results:
- Close Logos
- Restart Logos after enabling diagnostic logging
- Issue the command "Rebuild Bible Index" in command line and hit enter
- Once the indexing is complete try the right click search again.
- If that search fails upload the indexer log to the forum.
Prov. 15:23

Thanks Mr Becker,
I tried the search and got zero results both before and after the indexing process. I attach the log.5545.Logos4Indexer.log

You indexer log looks pretty clean, I'm stumped.
Unless someone else can offer a solution I suggest calling Tech Support.

You say that your default bible is BHS/WIVU but I cannot find it in your bible index! It is LLS:WIVUMORPH and the file is WIVUMORPH.logos4. See if it is in your resources folder [C:\Users\David Knoll\AppData\Local\Logos4\Documents\r2vwa5o4.zmo\ResourceManager\Resources].
Do you see it in Library ie. BHS: with WIVU Morphology?

Thanks Mr Hooton,
I contacted Logos support and they took control of my computer and fixed it by deleting some files and then redownloading them and indexing.
Now basic search works.
but I am unable to reproduce the search:
lemma:כָּבֹוד AND lemma:יְהוָה
which was demonstrated by Mr. Becker in a previous post.
I can only get results in AFAT but when I search WIVU for a query that has two lemmas seperated by AND nothing is returned.
Before I contact support again, can anyone please try to do the lemma search above in WIVU and tell me if he gets the same result?
many thanks to all

I assume you are beginning with some specific text. Could you indicate which passage and explain what it is you are attempting to accomplish?

Thank you Mr. Criddle I managed to reproduce your search but I need to be able to do the same in the Morphological search (Not the Bible Search) because I want to be able to search a specific form.

Thank You,
Well for instance where do the verbs נשא and בכי/ה come together in the same verse in the imperfect form (in other words yaqtul or "Present-future" etc.) regardless of number and gender

Morphological and Bible searches have a different syntax. That's because you specify the morphology in a drop-down menu in morphological search, whereas in Bible search you have to specify it in the syntax.
The problem is compounded because כבוד is an homonym, so you need to specify which homonym you need. The correct syntax in morph is therefore:
lemma:כבוד:1 AND lemma:יהוה
You can select the correct forms from the drop-down menu as you're typing the lemma.

Mr. Barnes I think WIVU does not classify כבוד as comprised of two homonyms and rightly so. The second homonym is tagged by AF only in Ps 57:9 and (with respect) "liver" does not fit the context at all. I have no idea what they were thinking of.

Something odd is going on
lemma:כָּבֹוד does not bring up any hits in WIVU in Morph search
However, <Lemma = wivu/he/כָּבוֹד> works in Bible and Morph for me... I'm beginning to think there's some sort of bug at work.
Update: I just pasted the cabod from the long syntax in front of a lemma: and it worked in Morph search, weird. Perhaps the lemma as exists in the drop-down list has a problem with it.

My apologies. I got there in the end. This works for me: lemma:כָּבוֹד AND lemma:יְהוָה
However, I had to copy/paste the lemma כָּבוֹד from the resource onto the search string for it to work. It didn't work from the dropdown menu. It's hard to tell the difference with the font used on this forum, but you had כָּבֹוד , whereas I had כָּבוֹד
<Edit> Looks like Kevin edited his post and beat me to it.</edit>

It's been going on for a while! I can't point to the threads at the moment but once again we have the issue of a suggested Hebrew lemma not being found in the relevant resource.

I am unable to search from the textual interface of the morphological WIVU search (i.e. not by right cicking):
גוי people, nation
חרב: sword (first homonym)

When I try to search the root דב"ר and choose the first consonantal homograph I get no results. On the other hand when I do the same search bz right clicking a different search is entered: lemma:דבר.1.V
How can I make the right search from the textual interface? Why don't I get a message telling me that I should add ".V" (probably to distinguish between the noun and the verb.
Same happens with ראש only this time it is followed by N

I posted a bug report in the Beta forum (which also details a work-around for goy if you have Westminster 4.2). I also linked back to this thread with your difficulties.

Many thanks Mr Becker. After reading your post there I understand now that I shall have to buy Westminster. A bit annoying to buy a bible software package and having to pay additional 100$ for such basic functionality as a morphological search :-(

The problem comes from a bug, you shouldn't need to buy Westminster to get easy morph searching, but it may be the most expedient thing to do while you wait for the WIVU bugs to be fixed [:(]. When WIVU is fixed you might be able to get a refund.

I'm not totally ready to assume that this is a bug though I normally use BHS 4.2 and not WIVU. Could you explain in excruciating detail what it is that you are doing since I am still not sure? E.g. "Select דבר and right-click then select 'Search this resource'" or "Select then right-click and select 'keylink.'"

Don't bother with this thread any longer. I talked to a sales representative and decided to immigarte to the BW8 world. I purchased Logos only a week ago so I am entitled to a refund. I think I am not part of Logos' target market. I study the OT, Semitics and LXX and I think this software is more pastor oriented :-)
