An Apology
Apparently a recent post of mine has caused some here to be offended. I was unaware of the controversy as I was completely blitzed today with work, and was surprised to receive an email stating that my post had been deleted! ("The Cloud" ate it..)
It was a poor attempt from a "Messianic Redneck" at humor. I guess in my overexcitement of the new pre-pub Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud Collection (50 Vols.), I made an error in judgment and was hasty with the post. When I told my wife what I said, she just shook her head ( apparently I am known for my obscure humor?) and said "they are going to think you are a racist!" So, in the future whilst drinking brandy and smoking cigars I promise I will run my posts by my wife first!
So sincerely, I ask that you would quench the fire of your anger (do not light a fire on the Sabbath!) and accept my deepest apology.

P.S. I do not expect replies...would just rather forget the whole thing! <grin>.. And anyway I didn't get to see anyones replies...probably a good thing.

As for bad jokes, foot in mouth, etc, I have had my share. I too, have learned to listen more to my wife. But in a way, your situation reminds me of a preaching class I had once. I was giving a practice sermon to my peers, and had a slightly humorous, slightly biting illustration about farmers. We had some older non-trads (who were probably younger than I am now, lol) who raked me over the coals for my "poor taste" illustration against farmers. The thing was, I grew up on a farm. My dad was a farmer still. But if people don't know your context, things you say can look very very bad to them.
I like Apples. Especially Honeycrisp.

yes, Dave, allll my questionable material was deleted by President Bob himself. But the remaining 6 or 7 were sooo good Dan Pritchett argued for me keeping my star. [H]
Actually, this happened yesterday, and it has to do with my login not working ("invalid") so i tried inserting another email and my usual password--and it worked! (not sure why, I never set up another account ID). But I lost my post count. Ongoing investigation.

It happened to me some time ago after I called to the CS to change my ID email address. Dave Ladiges repaired that for me.
But of course, my posts were harmless, I am not sure about yours, may be Logos is just happy they are gone... [:D]

His posts aren't gone, just the links to them from his profile page. But we can still find them with Google. Even all the questionable ones. [;)] It's happened before to others, too (Terry Poperszky, I recall), whenever they change email addresses. And it's fixable.
