Totally dead

All ... so far I have no idea what is happening.  I am running an iMac, 4GB 667Mhz RAM, 2GHz with the latest Snow Leopard and L4.A27.  I am able to download the latest update but have absolutely no functionality.  I cannot open any of my library resources with the Library button.  Right-clicking on to a new tab does nothing.  Right-clicking in a new window produces 2 blank new windows.  Searching does / produces nothing.  At least now it doesn't seem to crash my computer.  Any reason why I cannot scrap it and start from the beginning again?

All ... to add a bit more to the "just don't get it" scenario.  I deleted the engine out of my App folder and downloaded the latest version fresh.  Ran it and got the exact same.  What am I doing or not doing?

If all else fails, look for the folder in your user directory Library/Application Support/Logos4 and remove that. You will have to redownload and reindex everything, but that will get you close to a complete restart.

You might try posting your logs first and see if any Logos devs can spot the problem. See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6731.aspx for help on posting logs.

OK, do you know if it will automatically download and reindex.  Strangely enough it has not been that long since I did it in the first instance but can't recall if I had to wave some kind of magic wand.  But one thing I have liked about my Mac since coming to the light was the sheer fact of lack of magic wands.

If you remove everything then download and reinstall Logos, once you login to the app it will automatically download and index.

    Eric,

You  may not need to download and re-index, and that may not fix your problem. If you could post your logs (see the FAQ link in my sig, item #6), we could look at them and give you more precise instructions on how to get up and running.

    Hi Tom,

Thanks.  I did send a log one time but THINK I lost which thread I was following.  I started a couple myself and basically did not handle it in a very organised way.  But I did take it back to zero and it was downloading my library as I left.  So hopefully tomr morning I will have something useful.  Something happened in between one of the A version upgrades and from that time it was causing me more grief than I thought possible with a Mac.  I will keep my moaning to this thread and let the list know what is happening.

Tom and other interested parties ... I pushed the cart back up to the top of the hill to see if it still breaks when I push it ... and it doesn't.  That was a huge metaphor ... started back from scratch and my library is viewable, clickable and the search function seems to work ... at least in rudimentary forms.  I still don't know what caused it all but this is where I am now.  Eric

So as far as you know, things are working as they should, right?

Well, light years better.  I have just checked that I can access my library and that I can do a simple search.  That is all the farther I have tried so far.  I think something happened with one of the Alpha upgrades as when I first loaded it, it seemed to work.
