Hey All,

I purchased the Logos 4 Mac back in November. I don't remember hearing all of the disclaimers that are now posted regarding the alpha versions, debugging, long lead time etc. I am not willing to add debugging programs to my daily to-do list! HERE IS MY QUESTION: can I just wait until the finished software comes out and download that all at once? I've been having indexing problems for about 5-6 months and have now idea what is even on my system. I imagine that I'm not the only person out there who has no desire to spend time and energy reading about the various problems and trying to fix them.

Thanks for helping this " technological dinosaur",

    Hi,

Speak to logos technical about your problem you may get a refund, or you should be able to wait untill the full version comes out and download it.

But definatly speak to support and sales about it.

    Deborah,

Fixing your problems not only helps you it also helps the others that come after you.

Perhaps you could look on sorting out your indexing problems as a small kindness to others?

For the most part the current version is pretty stable and useful.

Do you have the latest version?

If so it is quite likely that your indexing problems will only take a few moments to fix - those who have travelled the road before you have ironed out most of the problems and many solutions both temporary and permanent - it is unlikely that you have found a unique problem. If though you have just think how you will be helping others by contributing a little of your time.

Go on Deborah - give it a go - get the latest version - and submit your logs - you may get to like it.

    Deborah,

I can understand your pain.  I think you still have two very good options.  1. Is to load the verions 1.1 fof the Mac.  It doesn't have the bells and whistles, but is still a great program.  It shouldn't cost you anything, and when Mac 4 goes lives, you could download the new version.   2.  You can run a windows version of Logos on your mac.  I run a program called Parallels that allow me to run the Logos 4 windows on my Macbook Pro.  It runs very well, and was very easy to set up. I had an old copy of Windows XP so my total cost was about $75.  If you don't do a lot of copy and pasting to other programs, you can load Logos 4 windows through "Bootcamp" on your Mac.

I have been very lucky in that my Mac 4 version has not had a lot of problems.  You might want to get with Logos and reload your Mac 4 Logos and start over.  Remember it will automatically download all your resources. (I have about 1,500 in my library).

Most of all, don't give up!  Logos is by far the best Bible Study Program out there.  I have used several others and nothing is close.  On the Mac, it's Alpha version is far better than other products being sold as complete.

    Best Wishes!
