Something very weird about this, but it happens repeatedly despite reboots and the like. Makes the site completely unusable with Opera. It opens and then crashes. I'm going to try again after clearing out the cookies and see if I can log in again.
It's the sign in that apparently causes the crash to occur.
That does seem strange. So the page loads fine, but it crashes as soon as you submit the sign-in form? Is there an error of any kind, or does opera just stop responding?
Thanks for the report. Now to find an XP machine... =P

Bryan--
This also happens on my Mac Mini running Leopard (not Snow) with Opera 10.6, so I am thinking there's a bug in what Opera is reacting to that causes this problem. I have no issues in Firefox or Safari so far.
I haven't been able to reproduce it in Vista or Windows 7. It may be a problem with one of your preferred resources, which may not be displayed until you sign in. Can you see which 2 resources it's trying to load after you sign in, or does it crash before you see that?
Edit: I suppose you could check it in one of the browsers that doesn't crash too =P
The ESV loads along with 1 Timothy MacArthur Commentary. (In a non-crashing browser), I'm not sure why these would cause a crash versus other resources, but that's a possibility.
Hi Bryan,
I found a work around. Did a web search on Opera crashing and came up with an article on the use of fraud protection on Opera 10.6. I figure that I am not worried about fraud on Biblia[:D], so I unchecked that preference and tried logging in to Biblia in XP. No crashing so far. YAY!
I am guessing that there's something in your web site log in that appears to trigger an error in Opera's fraud detection software causing it to crash the program. Maybe an exception error that missed their QA.
Wow, that's very strange, especially since no one else using Opera 10.6 seems to be experiencing it! I'll see if I can track down what's upsetting it anyway.
Thanks so much for the research
Bryan - it happened to me the first time I tried to log in via opera 10.60. I entered my username and password and it crashed. However, backing out with the site and then going forward again, apparently resent the username and password correctly. Since then I have not had a problem re-entering the site.
For some reason it stopped happening on my Mac with no workaround. So I'd probably just hunt it down on XP to see if you can reproduce the error. Unless I win Publisher's Clearing House, I expect to use XP until the computer dies. [;)]
I was crashing again today, so I went all out and did a clean install of Opera in XP. Took everything out. It's still crashing but I also got a screen error:
Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. I logged in yesterday and this seems to be working now. Not at all sure why or what but maybe it resolved via the latest Beta which is very cool. It's so neat to be able to access one's Logos materials on the web. [:D]
Great! Thanks for following up.
Well almost great it's crashing again [:(] Very weird. Looks like Opera on XP is out of the question for Biblia until this gets resolved. I sent a bug report off to Opera. It's something that seems to be conflicting on the server side during the log in based on that report.
Just for clues, I know that at least on Opera, the pageup/pagedown causes a focus-loss (have to mouse the Bible text to regain focus), so that if you then type a letter, the window crashes (in Opera, tab closes). But again, like other users, pretty nifty, especially if at church when I have a quick question.
I managed to sign in ok last night (even saw a successful login indication), and it still seems fine now without logging out.
Will keep this monitored, but I will tentatively ok it . I absolutely love how it syncs with one's home program. I am very impressed.
