Adding a favorite didn’t work in some locations

Still doesn't work for me. I added 3 favorites and while they did show up on my L4, they do not show up on my iPhone or iPad.

So, any comment from the Dev team? Is there any more information that you need?

You added three favorites on your iPhone, they show up in L4 on the desktop, but not in your iPhone or your iPad? What resource was this?

The bug fixed for 1.4.2 didn't create a favorite at all in certain positions in resources; if the favorite is created and shows up on the desktop, this is something different. We have seen an issue with the favorites list not being properly refreshed after adding a favorite on a slow network connection.

Ok, these are the same symptoms I reported on May 4th

    1. Favorite added from the iPhone propagted up to L4. (This was not happening last Thursday, but is definitely consistently working now)

    2. Favorite created on L4 propagated down to the iPhone.

    3. Favorite created on iPhone never showed up on the iPhone.

My iphone ened up with 1 favorite (nasb:1jn1.1), my L4.0c B7 ended up with two favorites (nasb:1jn1.1 and esv2tim3.1). No amount of syncing or opening and closing programs changed this total.

Dave, the Malachi volume of NAC and HCSB were the two I just tried to validate that it still had a problem, I would be more than happy to test any resource that I have access two as well as providing you with packet captures so you can see exactly what is happening. Slow network speed isn't really a problem, the two networks that I use are 150/150Mb (work) 50/10Mb (home) with Gb connections to each router.

I would like to throw in my 2 cents worth.  RCH Lenski's commentary on Matthew.

So here is what I do.  On the iPhone, I open Logos and open the Lenski commentary.  Then I sweep my finger upward, until the "Add to Favorites" shows up.  Then I select it.  The app takes me to the "Favorites" list, but does not add my Lenski selection from the other screen.

I closed the app, opened it again and went to Favorites.  It is still not there.

NOW I go into L4 on my computer.  I already had it open, by the way.  Looking on my list, I see..."WOW!"  It has already been added to the list.  But still not in iPhone.

Tried "Update Now", "Update Resources", but the iPhone did not update with the favorites I chose.

Closed the L4 app and went to iPhone to open it up again.  No Lenski in the favorites folder.

Dan, does it work with any other resource? Mine is both consistent and (in so far as I can see) universal in the same symptoms.

Terry and Dan, could you create a favorite that does not show up on the iPhone but does in Logos 4, don't delete it and let me know the name of it as it appears in Logos 4? I'm still unable to reproduce on my device the behavior you're describing. Thanks.

Dave, these show up in both L4.1 B2 and L4Mac A27

But they do not show up on my iPad or iPhone 1.4.2. They were created on my iPad

Terry, I have identified and I believe fixed the problem you've been encountering. Favorites created on the iPhone go in the Mobile Favorites folder. At some point, you deleted that folder, but new favorites were still put there. Logos 4 showed the orphaned favorites but the iPhone app did not. The changes were all server-side, so you should see your missing favorites now.

Dan, I did not confirm your issue was the same, but it probably was. Please let me know either way.

Which explains why all of a sudden, they showed up. Thanks for the help Dave.

I am only able to my place saved in favorites if I am online.  If offline I swipe up and tap add to favorites, the favorites screen comes up and it does not show my place setting.  Am I having the same problem as above. This is for books that I have downloaded for Offline reading.

Favorites are an online-only feature right now.

One thing I wish I could do with Favourites is give them a more meaningful description, something to help you remember why you made it a favourite. It's all well a good having the reference but after a few pages of stuff on the iphone, trying to find the particular piece you want gets tiresome.

Yep, you fixed it.  All the efforts I made to enter a favorite, have all showed up at once.  EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.....

    (by the way, THANKS Dave!!)

Dave, I want to say thanks again for this, I used when teaching on Sunday morning, and it was so nice just to be able to pop open favorites and bounce to the next section.

One question, do you foresee a time when favorites sub-folders will be available on the iDevice? When you create the sub folder, the favorites show up on the iDevice, but not segregated.

    Yes, that seems very likely.
