Right-Click Menu: Is it just me, or is does it seem backwards?

Maybe this is just me, and maybe someone else has already brought it up, but . . .

On the right-click menu, why do you select on the right to get options on the left--right to left, instead of left to right?

It seems a bit backwards. For me, it would be more intuitive to select on the left and see the options on the right.

There may be a perfectly good reason for this, but I'm just wondering.

I have to agree it's more than quirky.  If it were flipped it would feel more natural.

I read, work and as a result think left to right.  Should work flow left to right?  Even my Bible (source) is left of my keyboard and I look left for information so I can act on it on the right.

    I agree Steven, It's "backards"

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

You're the first. I never thought it was "odd"!

Steve I agree. It took me a long time to even figure out what was going on, because usually submenus appear to the right. So I too agree that it "feels" backwards at first. Now I'm used to it. but good observation

Also agree - Plus, I think it would be good to have the main selected item in bold or with a mark next to it to indicate that it is selected. For me, there's not quite enough contrast between the active menu item and the others.

Well, I agree about the lack of contrast on the selected menu item--I thought it might just be my monitor. It would be really cool if the interface was skinable--custom themes like Google Chrome.

    custom themes like Google Chrome.

I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that the themes in chrome are all "dog ugly" :)
