Does anybody know which books have been removed from the Fortress Press Paul Collection?

I suddenly discovered that the price has moved down to $206.95 and now there are only 18 books (20 before). However, my pre-pub price is still $226  and I haven't got any emails about the change.

I am searching for the notification (was it email/forum/blog?) but until I find it (I may have deleted it), I saw something from Logos that they experienced problems with rights to a couple books.

Weird, mine is 229.95.  Weird--that it is different than yours and that it was not adjusted automatically by Logos.

    I'm sorry. I made a mistake. My pre-pub price is also $229.95.

I discovered the change because I got a pre-pub notification. But it didn't have any explanation - just the new  text of the pre-pub

    Documents
and Images for the Study of Paul

Editors: Neil Elliott and Mark Reasoner

    Publisher: Fortress Press, 2010

    300 pages

Documents and Images for the Study of Paul gathers
representative texts illustrating Jewish practices, Greco-Roman moral
exhortation, biblical interpretation, Roman ideology, apocalyptic
vision, epistolary conventions, and more to illustrate the complex
cultural environment in which Paul carried out his apostolic work and the
manifold ways in which his legacy was reshaped in early Christianity.
Brief, insightful introductions orient the reader to the significance of
these sources for contemporary interpretations of Paul's life and
thought. Photographs illustrate the visual environment of the
Greco-Roman world; a map, a timeline, and an index of Scripture passages
make the sourcebook the perfect companion text in courses on Paul and
    his letters.

Neil Elliott, an Episcopal priest, teaches biblical
studies at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities and
    Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis.

Mark Reasoner is Professor of Biblical Studies at
    Bethel University in St. Paul.

    Galatians
    Re-Imagined
    Publisher: Fortress Press, 2010

    Author: Brigitte Kahl

    272 pages

    Sample Pages: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

Brigitte Kahl brings to this insightful reading of Galatians a deep
knowledge of the classical world and especially of Roman imperial
ideology. The first wave of scholarship on the Roman imperial context of
Paul's letters raised important questions that only thorough treatments
of individual letters can answer. Kahl sets the letter to the Galatians
in the context of Roman perceptions of vanquished peoples as
represented in the Great Altar at Pergamum. Beginning with a perceptive
discussion of the Great Altar, Kahl describes imperial representations
of Roman power as well as the characteristics officially imputed to
conquered peoples, including the "savage" Galatians (Gauls).

Brigitte Kahl is Professor of New Testament at Union
    Theological Seminary, New York.

Thanks Mark. It is a pity though that we won't get these - they look very interesting.

My price wasn't adjusted down either, which is odd, because I seem to recall when this has happened in the past they have adjusted pre-pub order prices down. But since it's still in pre-pub, you can cancel your initial order at the higher price (go to your My Account page, Pre Pub Orders tab, find the order in question, click Edit, then click Delete Order and confirm) and then re-order it at the new lower price.

Thanks Mark.  And sadly, Galatians Re-Imagined will not meet Bible Study Re-imagined.

Looks like this one has lost another volume. My prepubs now says 17 volumes, and the price has been reduced from $206.95 to $189.95. The title and price have been changed on the pre-pub page:

    http://www.logos.com/product/6290/fortress-press-paul-collection

But it still lists and pictures 18 volumes. Anyone know which one dropped out?

I was just looking at this collection again today and although the heading says 17 volumes there are 18 listed, including Galatians Re-Imagined. I'm not sure if this means that something else was swapped out or what. I really think we deserve notification from Logos, considering we have promised to buy the books in the collection. It's been five months and nothing has been said.

    BUMP

We now have a ship date of March 29 but no change of the product page. The header still states 17 vols while the contents and product details have 18 volumes listed. When will it be confirmed what this collection contains?

I just looked again and the product page has been updated. http://www.logos.com/product/6290/fortress-press-paul-collection.There are 17 volumes listed and the price is now $179.95. It's too bad that some of the material was removed but it still seems like a pretty nice collection with Sanders' classic work and some more recent Pauline works. The volumes on Paul's contemporary history look interesting. There's a pretty big gap between 1977 and the current state of affairs but if you have any interest in the New Perspective on Paul you need to read Sanders. I'll be interested to see how Logos deals with his three index references to "ultimate truth."

It's still a fantastic set--as disappointed as I am about Wright's exclusion.  And I agree with Tom about EP Sanders--need to have that foundation.  Would have loved for them to have added Krister Stendahl to the mix, too . . . . maybe still?  Pretty please?  You can crank it out in 2 weeks, Logos!  :)

(Not that I would buy the collection anyway, but I'd buy Sanders and Stendahl some time in the future, when the collection was broken up.)

of course, Krister is probably not published by Fortress . . .

Actually, my Swedish copy says that it was (I hadn't checked).

You have a Swedish fortress press book?  Is that possible?  I think you bluff.  It would be called Fästening Pressa . . . not Fortress . . .

lame humor aside--well, doggone-it, that is cool!  Get Mr. Stendahl signed up!

I have Stendahl's short little Final Account: Paul's Letter to the Romans and it was published by Fortress, 0800629221. I only paid $2 for it too :)

Did you do that through Google Translate? There are at the very least 4 language mistakes in those 2 words... Without the context, I wouldn't have known what you were talking about.

ONLY FOUR???? Wow, that worked pretty good!  And this just proves how important context IS in our studies.  Let this be a lesson to you.  [:P][8-|]

actually it wasn't google translator, just a knock off.  I was totally flying blind!  [:D]
