Crash: 4.1 beta 4. Homescreen
I was experiencing similar issues to those discussed in this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/20832.aspx with none of the online content appearing on the homepage, and a 500 server error in the log from the url which processes all the online content addresses.
In the process of a) following the instructions there, clearing the cache in all my browsers b) loading http://www.logos.com/rdf/?file=columns-4.0〈=en in a browser to see what it was and c) installing beta 4,
L4 now crashes every time the homepage loads (opens to blank layout with no problem).

Did you update to Beta 4 from Beta 3 or 4.0d, or did you perform a fresh installation? Will it work if you load a saved layout?
You can try to delete the contents of the folder at C:\Users\Jon\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\g5tskrmb.b3z\HomePage

Thanks Dave, deleting the contents of that folder fixed the crash. Now back to the original issue of not displaying the online content [:)]

Jon ~ I am glad you were able to workaround the problem. We have an open case on the exception in your crash log and developers are working on a fix for these particular crashes.

There is a bug in 4.1 Beta 4 that will crash the application the second (or subsequent) time you open the Home Page in a single day. As a workaround, you can disable the home page from opening at startup. This bug will be fixed in the next beta.

i assume the online connectivity is related to that, then?

just as a note, for anyone experiencing this problem, this is how you can still get Logos to load if you have your home screen enabled (like myself)

Note that Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) is currently experiencing errors (http://status.aws.amazon.com/); this is affecting our ability to publish a new build.
