Interesting indexing behavior

The last two times I have gotten downloads now (including yesterday's), on my desktop it automatically does an indexing that creates a supplemental index, and on my laptop it does a full reindex. The resources on both are identical, and both times there was no supplemental index on either.

Strange behavior?

Can we get the indexer logs off both machines?

And... are both running the same version of Logos? That would make a difference too.

Yep - both are 4.0d SR-2.

Actually you know, I may be wrong about this. The laptop has a Supplemental index now too. It may be I was deceived by the "estimate to complete" since the laptop is a little slower, and that time can vary quite a bit as it goes through the library. I'll keep an eye on it and see if that really happens, now I am not so sure.

You need to set permanent logging to know what the Indexer is really doing. Observation after the fact can be misleading as the previous state depends on your memory!

A supplemental Library Index was created for the recent download but note that the BibleIndex usually consolidates (merges) indexes so that there is no supplemental.

Thanks Dave, I always having logging enabled, I'll get in the habit of checking the indexing log file if I questions in the future. Thanks!
