    Hi Michael.

Several of these have been discussed elsewhere. Some of these go way back to LLS 2.x and are not resource files at all.

LSR: way back before Logos had "data types", it had "standard references". The *.lsr files defined the scheme for the given standard reference. These were only used in LLS 2.x, I believe. These ended up getting converted into data types. There is no data lost here, no resource info whatsoever.

VMP: These are old "verse map" files, used by LLS 2.x and also by LDLS. Logos 4 has its own much better and much more flexible method for representing verse-map-oriented data.

LWF: Er ... don't remember this one. Might've had something to do with the LLS 2.x "Global Word Index"? Either way, nothing needed for resources.

RCM: These are "reference conversion maps", they used to work with verse map files to handle some functionality converting between Bible reference schemes.

I wouldn't delete any of them, however. Leave them as they lie if you're going to continue to run Libronix (and you should, we're in a beta period). Logos4 installs completely separately and, as I understand it, will grab what it needs when and if it needs it.

    Hi

thanks for the information  do you know what  these files relate to

    *.LIX

    *.LSF

I know we are still early in the bet in version  I have been very impressed so far and decided to remove Libronix  version3

this has given me more room on my hard drive ,  after indexing  finished  I checked the resources against the old file resources

and removed them in a backup folder just in case I need them

this left approximately 300 files which I think are   mostly  from older Libronix programs

there are some files that have not been picked up yet  so these ones I will leave them in place,  as I know in future updates  they will get indexed eventually

if I can remove as much of the old files that have nothing to do with the  resources   should help  with indexing in the future

Both of these are Logos 2.x extensions. I believe the LIX is an index file of some sort. I'm not sure of the other. In Logos 2.x each resource required two files. I wouldn't delete either.

However, almost all of the old Logos 2.x resources were updated for LDLS (L3). So you may be looking at resources for which you have duplicates in LDLS format (and maybe L4 format).

You're a brave man, though I'm not sure how wise. [;)]

SUGGESTION: Don't delete any resources until after the final release of L4.0, and then only after Logos tells us we can. As a bare minimum make a backup of these files to an external hard drive, or to a CD, before deleting them.
