Logos4 link opens Libronix instead of Logos4

Reftagger links used to open Logos4 before I installed Libronix. Now, it opens Libronix and results in just the program opening (no reference to the verse). How can I change this back so that it opens Logos4?

Also, do I really need Libronix? I installed it as per the instructions on installing a Lexicon. I don't see much use for it, don't really know what it's used for, would prefer to just use Logos4 (but the Lexicon didn't seem to want to install w/o first me installing Libronix, so I think I had to).

As for Libronix. Many people continue to use L3 and L4 at the same time on the same machine. In some cases they do this because there are still some missing features in L4 that they want to access. In other cases it is probably due to personal preference and familiarity with L3. Some just maintain it because they have it. I kept L3 for quite a while and then removed it from my computer when I realized I had not opened it in months.

If you decide to remove L3 I caution you to consider all of you user created content (notes, sentence diagrams, passage lists, etc. that exist in libronix and determine if you want to import that content over to L4 before you delete Libronix. For many user s a big issue has been the PBB's With L3 users had access to hundreds of resources in a PBB format and L4 does not currently support them. Therefore if you delete L3 you will no longer have access to those.

Finally keep in mind that the Libronix engine is fairly small and the user created content stored in you in Libronix folder in your documents is fairly small. If you concern is space, you can simply delete the L3 resources folder and keep the basic engine in place.

WARNING: before you delete Libronix sync you licenses with the Logos server. This insure Logos knows what resources you are licensed for and should automatically download them to L4.

Well, I don't have L3. I have only recently purchased L4. Had trouble installing a book...and it's support section said to install Libronix so I did.

Is Libronix not necessary for L4?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Logos 4. No, Libronix is not necessary to run L4.

What resource required it and where did you purchase it?

What L4 base package did you purchase?

EDIT: I suspect the registry was changed when you installed the Librinix engine and that is the problem with your links. Therefore the Wiki page I pointed you to should still provide the necessary information to solve that problem.

Yeah, I resolved it by following the steps in the wiki and ran the /registration.

I bought the Study version and bought the Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Lexicon. The initial instructions said that Logos4 would update itself after purchase. But it never did (I gave it over an hour). So I found steps for Libronix and references to it, installed it, ran the update file for the BDB...and Logos4 was updated.

Don't know if I should have gone through all that or not...but it worked.

And if I don't need Libronix for L4, I guess I can just delete it.

You have to restart L4 and even then you need patience - give it a day and then ring customer support. I generally wait a few hours before even restarting L4 or using Update Now and it hasn't failed to be there! With that in mind go ahead and delete Libronix.
