Finally, I would like to try out Logos4mac and say good bye to virtual machines for good but....
Is there a way to get the resources from the Logos4 DVD instead of downloading everything?

You can call customer service and purchase media for a small fee I believe. You can then put in the DVD and start Logos 4 and it will pull resources off of the disk.
You can buy the disk here: http://www.logos.com/products/details/5579 and import the contents using the 'scan' command as detailed in the wiki. There are two problems with the disk though. 1) I have been told only 'base products' such that those which are included in Portolio or below are included. 2) Any updates to resources are not included. So the end result to these two is that you may still have a hefty download. All that said, the disk currently available includes 4.0d which presumably includes some HUGE resource updates we have had this year such as interlinears.
So bottomline, this will save you a fair bit of downloading, but you may still need to give your internet connection a bit of a workout.

Thanks for the link to the wiki.
Just copied the resources directory into my shared folder in virtualbox. Simple.
But I still needed to download several gigs of data in updates. Sad.
Anyway, this method saved me 9 gigs worth of downloadings because I didn't have to download the resources. Good result.
I hope it's worth the effort. It's indexing now....
