Problem copying resources to hard drive

I hope somebody can help me out with my problem. I am at my wits end and my grey hair is turning white.

Due to a system meltdown I had to do a complete system restore from the original backup image on my laptop and of course that forced me to reinstall all of my apps. But after reinstalling Libronix 3.0f and 3.0g my system simply refuses to copy the resources over to my hard drive. Or rather the software refuses to recognize that the resources are copied. Location Manager will go through the motions and say it is copying but just when it gets at the end it will again generate a list of resources to copy that includes all of the resources it supposedly just copied. If I remove the disc from the drive the resources are grayed out until I reinsert the disc. Also the resources show up in the resources directory on the hard drive. The software just refuses to see them.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Somebody please help me here. I;'e spent several hours on just trying to get this resolved.

After Location Manager copies the resources, you must restart Libronix before Location Manager will see that you have them (restarting Libronix rebuilds the resource list cache). Did you miss that step?

If not, you may want to run chkdsk on the volume to ensure that there are no bad sectors on your hard drive.

Bad sectors on my hard drive would not selectiviely cause all of the copied resources to indicate they need to be copied again. Bad sectors would give me read and write errors in other programs as well.

If the bad sector is located in the place where Libronix stores it's resource cache, you could theoretically get an unreported error at that point.

Either way, it's a cheap and easy thing to try and will eliminate one potential problem.

A couple of other things to try are: 1) clean out your temporary files cache and your IE cache (Libronix uses the IE engine); 2) ensure that your version of Libronix is up to date (run the update scripts below); 3) ensure that windows and IE are up to date; 4) after cleaning/updating, etc. reboot the computer.

Because of Libronix use of IE, it can be a bit finicky at times. So, if you have any IE add-ons, disable or uninstall them, and run IE "as is."

Occassionally, an anti-virus or malware app will disable or interfere with Libronix. Try running without them, or set Libronix in the program's 'white list.'

Not to be argumentative but the odds of this type of problem being caused by bad sectors without other indications are slim to none.

Anyhow, it's moot point. I have resolved the issue without disabling addons, antivirus or any other features on my computer. After going through the motions several more times I realized that each time I copied the resources there were fewer to copy the next time around. For soem reason Libronix was not copying all of the selected resources in one try so it took numerous copies to get it done. Not sure why but I do know the problem is not with my laptop since I remember having the same problem a few months ago when I reinstalled on my desktop. Completely different hardware and OS. Seems to be an issue with Libronix and the way Location Manager works.

That's an odd issue, though. Haven't heard of it happening before.
