Brief description of the problem

Repro

  1. Open Logos 4
  2. Open my preferred layout
  3. Set visual filters in every window to highlight the active reference.
  4. Save my layout.
  5. Close L4
  6. Reopen L4.
  7. Open lectionary.
  8. Reopen my preferred layout.

Actual Result

My visual filter settings aren't the same as were saved. Some are not set. Others are as I set them.

Expected Result

Settings would be as I left them.

System Specs (if using multiple computers or not in your signature)

  • Vista 64 on a laptop, Intel dual core, 4GB RAM, nVidia with 512MB

Comments

Settings need to be remembered. In addition, while I appreciate the intended flexibility to make this setting applicable "per window", I'd also like an optional global setting to make it applicable for all windows.

    Confirmed in beta 4.

    Description

I've carefully set my visual filters in every open window of my preferred layout to highlight the active reference. I save the layout. But when I reopen my preferred layout, these settings don't stick, & other preferences are checked. I keep having to reset the visual filters. The 1st time I noticed it, it appeared to be tied to passage guide. That doesn't appear to be the case.

    Repro

    1. Open Logos 4
    2. Open my preferred layout
    3. Set visual filters in every window to highlight the active reference.
    4. Save my layout.
    5. Close L4
    6. Reopen L4.
    7. Reopen my preferred layout.
    8. Close L4.
    9. Reopen L4.
    10. Reopen preferred layout.

    Actual Result

Visual filter settings aren't the same as were saved. Some are not set. Others are as I set them. And some have new settings I have never picked.

    Expected Result

Settings would be as I left them, espcially if I've saved the layout.

    More Info:

This is definitely a bug on my system. Can anyone else confirm? Does anyone care?

I am using the 4-pane layout, with multiple tabs in each window. After setting all tabs to "Highlight Active Verse", saving the layout, exiting Logos 4, & restarting Logos 4, the settings are consistent the 1st time it reopens:

    • Active Tabs (foreground) in every one of the 4 panes have no visual filter set. (My setting was reset.)
    • Most (all?) Inactive tabs are set to "Sympathetic Highlights"

The 2nd time Logos 4 opens, even more settings are changed. (Tabs in Lower LH pane now has ALL visual filters off.)

My preferred layout has 14 tabs in 4 panes. For me, this is a big deal.

    bill,

I duplicated your test and I can confirm; after opening the saved layout...all of the active reference check boxes are now unchecked.

    Thanks, Robert!

I was starting to think no one else was having the problem! For those of us who like to use a large saved layout, this is going to be a big issue....

    Blessings to you!

Bill, thank you for your patience. I was able to reproduce this behavior after restarting the program, and will report it.  ~ Melissa

Maybe this is part of the same bug.  I keep trying to turn off sympathetic highlighting, but when I reload the workspace it's back on.  But it doesn't happen in every window.  It stays turned off in the NASB I have on the left side of my workspace, but not in the one on the right side. The one on the right is the one I opened first in setting up the workspace.

This should be fixed in Beta 7.
