Thanks for the hard work guys...
I am Just wondering if there is a timeline on the exegetical guide for mac. Once this happens hopefully I won't have to use my virtual machine as much.
I am also curious about this. While I can't wait to see all the final features implemented, this is the most crucial for my studies. Any ideas on when Word by Word will be implemented?
I probably set a terrible precedent by answering this, but here goes. Essentially, there are two sections of the exegetical guide that are sorely lacking at the moment: Word By Word and Visualizations. Word By Word should see substantial progress in Alpha 14 (the next one). Visualizations "works" in the sense that if you have visualization resources, they're listed. However, the display of Clause Visualizers is currently un-implemented and I don't have any info about when it might be done.

Cameron, a little bit of hope is better than no hope. I for one will not hold you to information you pass along to us. I really appreciated Bob's time line even though it was probably a bit optimistic.
Thank you for the information, just curious.
thanks again for all of the excellent work.
Thanks for the update, I won't hold you to it either, but it is good to have a general idea!
For something that looks Hebrew to me, looks like clicking Top Exegetical Guide Grammar link => jumps to sub-section (vi) with verse cross reference displayed in first line:
Wonder if grammar section jump could place cross reference 3 lines down from top of panel ?

Is this in place now? I must be missing something, because although Logos4 for the Mac is about to be released, I still can not find the equivalent of what I see in my Libronix3 - the Word-by-Word exegetical guilde where it breaks apart a passage in a word-by-word analysis.
In Logos4 (Beta7), if I go to "Exegetical Guide" I only get a blank pane, no information. And I can find no menu choice to give me a "Word by Word" view.
Did some resources or something not transfer over from my Libronix3 install?
Hi! It seems to be working for me. If I have a passage pulled up in my bible, then pick "Exegetical Guide", I first get a blank panel with the verse in the input line (e.g., "Ephesians 5:4"). I thought it wasn't working, until I clicked on the input line and hit "return". Then it seemed to process the request. It's not intuitive, but I hope it works for you.
Rich
Yes this has been in place for sometime, if I understand your question correctly, (see screen capture),
I can't offer any explanation as to why it isn't working for you.

until I clicked on the input line and hit "return".
I suspect that this is a bug. I too notice that I have to do this. I think it should be auto started, but it isn't.
Strange... Word-by-Word and Visual aren't even options showing up....
7462.exegetical-1.tiff
Even the "Add" doesn't have them....
5023.exegetical-2.tiff
Is there a way to reset preferences or something to try to get them to show up?

How are you accessing the Exegetical Guide? Via the 'Go Bar' on the Home Page or from the Guides menu? If from the former could you please post your logs. Instructions are linked from my signature on how to do so.
Dewayne:
Is the Exegetical Guide not running for you when you use the "Go Bar" on the Home Page or from the Guides menu? If the latter, than are you typing in a new passage and hitting enter or are you just expecting the guide to run with the citation seen that appears on its own? If one opens a bible, navigates to the desired verse and then opens the Exegetical Guide the guide will open up to the citation but will not auto run. One has to hit return for the Exegetical Guide to actually run.
I've tried it both from the Guides Menu as well as when putting in a verse on the Home page and hitting "Go". Seems to make no difference. The only thing showing up is "Grammer", and it has no content or options.

From the Guides menu.

Just expecting it to run on it's own. It always picks up the reference, but does not run.

This makes sense. I could see that you would not want the EG to run every time now that I think about it. If I run via the right click, it does start as it should. I just wasn't considering all the factors involved. It is working for me as it should.

My experience is that you do have to click inside the input box before you hit enter in order for it to run.
You're right, focus does not automatically set to the Exegetical Guide. In windows focus automatically is set to it so one could just hit enter. I've noticed some other discrepancies. I'll look to see if there are cases concerning them.
Steve:
I'll file your logs in a case.
It appears that the reason you're not seeing any of the cool stuff in the Exegetical Guide is that you don't have a base package (which means that you don't have any of the books necessary to display all of that data).
If you call our offices (800-875-6467) and ask for someone in sales, they'll get you sorted out in no time.
I am curious why it works in Libronix3 but not the Logos4 program.
It's possible that you do have the necessary licenses to show some of the items, but it's not configured correctly. Someone on our sales team would be in the best position to determine what, if anything, you need in order to get access to the features you want.
