Can I Say One More Time - scroll bar rant
How much I hate the knew scroll bars. I am getting used to the new interface. All the controll buttons like back/forward arrows and drop down arrows are still too small. But the scroll bars.
Notice below that the one on the left can barely be seen. Please keep it the way it is on the right all the time. I like to look at see where the scroll bar is in a window with a long list or long content. I can barely see the one on the left. On the right is how it looks when you mouse over. Whoever thought this was a good idea has far better eye sight than me or else has the contrast on their monitor way too high.

Hate to say it but I kinda like the subdued look. It gets the controls out of the way and they are not a visual distraction. When my mind things "I need to scroll" I remember where the find them.

I just moved this post from the General forum, where everyone can see it and learn about Logos 4 to the Logos 4 Private Beta forum.
Please be careful to check where you're posting!

I agree Kevin. It seems the new design approach is, "make an interface that is hard for everyone with visual impairment to use, but looks really neat."
Even when I am looking fro the scroll bar, it is almost impossible for me to find, but honestly I am not sure this is a concern to Logos.0 -
On the upside Phil, nobody in the regular forum appears to have seen it - or realized what it meant...

True. Third time this has happened, and the cat still seems to be in the bag.

It would sure get me thinking though if I saw it then it disappeared and it looked nothing like what I am using. Just a thought.

I am sorry!!!!
I will not start another new topic because I can't seem to find where I'm posting.
Can I make a suggestion. I know what I did this time. I was looking for "General" and found it and posted. But there are two forums with General in the title. Maybe this forum in the Beta subsection could be changed to something like Overall Feedback. If for no one else but me since I can't seem to keep from doing this. But as I said above, until that happens or until I wake up I won't start another topic to keep this from happening again. Self-imposed timeout.

I agree!

What if the word Beta was put before all the sub topics:
Beta General
Beta Suggestions
Beta Features etc...
you get the idea. Or change the name altogether as it has been suggested.
Mission: To serve God as He desires.

He's Tony Rezko and Barak Obama's neighbor. His church is just down the road from Jeremiah Wright's. [:-*]
(Sorry, Thomas, just joking)

Not quite neighbor but yeah. I'm about four hours south of Barak's Chicago estate.
Funny you should mention it George, I was thinking of seeing if I could intern at Wrights church. [:p]

Sorry Robert,
Now I understand. I woke up in the very wee hours this morning and was reading the forums. It's amazing how many things don't make sense when it's that early.
I've been living in a time warp all day.

Not to get off topic ;-) but I agree that the scroll bars need to be made more evident. I mentioned this when beta 1 came out and can only repeat myself. Someone mentioned changing the monitor settings but I can't improve it on my laptop and everything else is ok. Firefox has the same grey colour scheme but they manage to keep their bars see-able so it is possible.

Thanks Tom for the gentle and appropriate reminder.
Yes as to scroll bars, I do find them a bit too subtle for my taste.
I struggle with the obvious intent to make this look like an Imac interface. Last I checked the program was "Logos" not "iLogos".
I run windows because I don't like Mac.
