I thought Scots had the ability to remain aloof in the face of temptation. Rugged and individualistic, you can withstand the lure of this senseless thread that will not die.

Now Floyd, do you really think Rosie can control this classroom thread that is in out of control?
She really didn't know what she opened up by telling us to disregard her forum post...or did she???
She had to have known that all the children would run to play in it.Okay, I guess they could lock us out (that is probably the only way this thread will stop), but what fun is that??? You know ...children will be children.

Well, I just spent about 5 hours writing a new CV and a Cover Letter, so I just might be able to go find some paid employment again ...
If it works out, and I get the job, I will have much less time to hang out in this thread, but at least I might be able to afford to hang on the Pre-Pubs pages instead!!!
Ops - sorry - that almost made way too much sense. Sorry about that!
More dogs with pointed sticks please ...

Don't you find it interesting that she started this thread shortly before leaving to a location without internet access? Not accusing, just expressing interest, for I am certain that Rosie does not have a devious bone in her whole body. [8-|]

Well, we did leave it alone for almost 5 days...but it stayed in our thoughts...until Rosie went on vacation. Then it started running up counts again!
I wonder what Rosie will have to say when she gets back?
Back to dogs and pointed sticks...
um...it's about lunch time and I haven't had a corn dog in such a long time. I would occasionally get them at the amuzement park. It has been a really really long time....

I almost got one at yesterday's Red Wings game. But then I heard my cardiologist whispering in my ear, so skipped lunch and just had dessert. We won the game, but too late for this season. Only eight home games left.

I'll never admit to having done that. [A] Okay, truthfully yes I have.

It has not been nearly long enough for me! It has only been about 17-18 years since I tried one of those. [8-|]

Well, I'm not really completely back hone, just back into Internet access range. And boy, was it difficult not having access to this forum or email or anything! I see you've all kept things under control without me, though, so I'm not sure why you're so eager for me to return and take control of the thread. Unless you had something like this in mind:

It still has a long way to go (at only 168 replies) to catch up with the old winner "The correct way to Hijack a thread" (673 replies). I don't know how else you measure popularity. Number of views? But then there's no way to see that statistic for more than just the few most recent threads, unless you go paging through them all.

Some of your skills, for sure, but not your spelling skills... ;-)
(Pointing out people's spelling errors is one of the thread hijacking skills I honed on that thread, I believe.)

I just wanted to point out that 14 is twice-7, but not that many would have any idea what I'm talking about.
OK - back to dogs with pointed sticks, and Rosie spinning yarn while on holidays ...

Searching Logos for yarn found many verses to consider.

Nope, not a clue. Well, apart from the obvious. But what does it have to do with anything in this thread? (Then again, who says anything in this thread has to have anything do with something else in this thread when the whole thread was supposed to have been disregarded.)
Incidentally, it looks like the good folks at Logos are abiding by my initial wishes and are disregarding this thread (perhaps they have more important work to accomplish...ahem), as they are not noticing how silly it has become and are not locking it down.

I wasn't trying to stop it, though. I was intentionally being silly by quoting (and linking to) Monty Python. And of course Graham Chapman wasn't really trying to stop the silliness either in his role as the Silliness Patrol Colonel in that and other sketches. He was just adding to the silliness...
I see that Free Republic hosts "The Official Friday Silliness Thread" -- maybe we should have something similar here (we obviously have a lot of it pent up inside and need some sanctioned way to get it out of our systems). Here's a fun picture I just found on one of their silliness threads. Hope it's not to risque for the Logos forum. Those folks at Free Republic are very very conservative and they didn't seem to object to it.

If I remember correctly, this is an ongoing experiment ("Testing") on our community's ability to "disregard" a minute amount of "Junk". My assumption is that the experiment is still not complete.

I see that Milkman posted a similar test on the Files forum a while back ("this is just a test") and got nowhere near the replies that this thread did. I wonder why? Does he not have the charm that I have? Or were people back then better at following directions? At least people other than Floyd who posted there. But since that first test failed, Milkman tried it again a couple of days later ("another post") and succeeded in fending off any replies that might have ruined his otherwise perfect solitary conversation. It's quite a gem. You might want to read it. But don't comment on it or you'll ruin it. Keep your comments directed here, please, if you must comment at all. (This is a test. Can you hold off on responding altogether? [:)])

You're right. They're actually English. Or if you meant the name, you're right again. It is of Welsh origin and means "gray-haired." Or if you meant our friend Floyd, which is probably what you meant, he's only spanish if he's like the part of a bridge between the vertical piers:

I have found that randomly replying to a post on the first page once a thread has attained the multiple page level makes for a very effective manner of hijacking a thread. Wonder no more Kevin. The answer is an unequivocal "probably".

Searching Logos for hijacked in all bibles does find 1 verse in "The Message"
Expanding search to entire library found an illustration => Programmed Pets; a different resource provided sermon preparation insight => schedule hijacked by daily events => illustrations that connect with people.
