So far, so good...
First thing I noticed was a dramatic increase in the program's responsiveness. Thanks Mac Team!
Didn't see the release notes posted yet though. I assume they'll be up soon.

I think they forgot to pin the announcement. There were notes with the post, but got buried pretty quickly.
i was just coming on the forums to post and how IMPRESSED i am with Beta 8's speed. then i saw this post... so i thought i'd "amen" yours. [:)]
i'm a little surprised that such a big improvement in speed wasn't posting in the Release Notes.
either way... awesome job Logos Mac team!! thank you!!!!!
I wish I did, but I don't notice a speed change so far.

I have been testing features of the Syntax Search and so I have used the close all command and reopened my layout a few times today. I did the same after B8 and immediately noticed that the close all went from about 10 seconds to almost immediate. I noticed that opening my layout went from about 20 (guessing) to about 3! There is a very noticeable increase in speed for me.
The interface is very snappy. Noticeable improvement. Good job!!!
This is probably a side effect (albeit a positive one) of the work we did trying to squash the gray/missing panel bug. That bug is not through yet apparently, but nice to know we made some progress.
Tom, the program is much snappier. Thanks for all the hard work!
I'm attaching logs for the gray panel problem. This is the first time I've seen it. After reading yours and Dewayne's last posts above I decided to move between layouts to see how quickly B8 reacted and I got a blank gray panel. Couldn't duplicate again. (You may find some funny errors at the end of the console log. I couldn't remember the keystrokes to take a screen shot and was just trying different things.)
One other note, scrolling a linked Bible—even without visual filters on—still pegs both CPUs on my machine and is jerky with Logos, mail, Safari, and Splash ID open at the same time. Even so, it's not a big problem and I've not used the Win version in weeks.
