I took the following actions:
1 Open ESV to John 1.1.
2 Right Click on God and select "God" lemma
3 Select "Search This Resource"
For the "verses option" display.... Search reported 1.3 seconds yet it took well over a minute to display the results.
Search completed - albeit 30 seconds from "Search this Resource" until panel populated with results (repeat same search took 24 seconds):

What I wanted to know was why there is such a discrepancy between the search time and the display time? Is there a problem with the UI when the results get to a certain size which produce performance issues? On windows, the same search, display time corresponds to the search time.
Any ideas?

In short, there's still a lot of room for optimization in our search result displays on Mac. As the number of results gets larger, the time it takes to display increases.
