Noticed indexer jumped from saying somewhere around 3 hours indexing up to 27 hrs. It nows seems to be back on decline... will let it run for now but post current logs in case they are needed for a reference point.

Ok indexing completed much quicker than it intially indicated. Haven't noticed this blowout in estimated time for a while, but maybe its just I'm paying more atttention to it because it is a beta.

That was the most ridiculous set of estimates i've seen.
It was saying 27 hours to go when it had indexed the last resource after an actual 36m 8s, and it took 28m 6s to index LLS:46.30.25!
Overall it took 1h 31m 49s.
The time estimation algorithm should be thrown out.
Andrew,
This is due to the way indexing is calculated.
The first few resources to be calculated are averaged and the total count of remaining resources are calculated against that to give you a guess as to how long the whole process will take. (3 hours since the first few were "easy")
Then the next resource is a real booger to index, for example an interlinear Bible - those are tough, that get's added to the mix and suddenly your time jumps to 27 hours (!) and you subsequently have a heart attack thinking of your poor overworked CPU.
Since the next few resources are easier the time is downgraded again.
It's a bit weird.
I've had my estimate sit at around 1 hour for half a day before.
A percentage-complete message (resources indexed / all resources) would be a more reliable indicator of progress.
What is LLS:46.30.25? It took 28 min for that. Maybe we should be grateful it did not estimate 28m * 115 resources = 53.5 hrs, as i suspect that resource was responsible for the ridiculous estimates.
EDIT: a percentage of resources complete would be better than 27 hours ie. 114/115 = 99%. Then you need a percentage to finish the physical index files.

You should be able to paste LLS:46.30.25 into the command box, and it will tell you.
I don't own LLS:46.30.25 so I had to ask. Can you tell me if it has a Greek index as this was reported as "missing" a while back.

Ah, I thought you were asking about your library. (I googled it myself, since I don't have it either, and found it in a forum post from Melissa)

Thanks for the feedback Thomas, Todd and Dave. Agree the estimate is ridiculous, but I think only way to overcome it would be for logos to collate data from previous indexing to generate a more realistic estimate but would that be adding extra overhead to the program that in the end while creating greater user peace of mind (which in itself is important) but not add to the overall utility of the software, which is what we really use it for.
