BUG: Prayer list

Several things are going awry. I am going through a set of prayers and assigning annual dates to them.

1. After a search, when I click on a prayer to open it, it opens and closes instantly. When I click a second time, it opens and stays open.

2. I am still having the previously reported bug in the date update - I cannot get it to take from the window where I set the frequency to year, I must click on the date and update via the calendars there.

3. Up through April 21, 2011 the updates take. Beginning at April 22, 2011 the date shows in the "pray for this" line but the tag above the title remains "today" and the prayer does not reposition correctly (by date to prayer).

4. Response times bring a new meaning to slooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

The most recent log contains all other these problems.

I can't reproduce this. Are you opening the prayer from the home page ribbon or from the open Prayer List?

This should be fixed in the next beta.

Response time when opening the Prayer List, adding a prayer?  Are all your prayers in one Prayer List?  If not, are all your Prayer List documents slow?

    Thanks.

I am using the Search This Panel option on an open prayer list.

In this particular case, all I am doing is assigning date to existing entries. This is a prayer list intended to have 365 entries i.e. everything is a pray once a year. It was built when the prayer lists were a new feature and dates did not work correctly ... in fact I had had to recreate 2 records that had gotten thoroughly bollixed up. So I finished creating the file by allowing everything to simply use the default timing and date. Now, I am going through setting the dates. I had problems with January 2010 so I switched to 2011 dates until I get to "today's date."

My other prayer lists are somewhat slower than notes but within the range of acceptable.

unlike notes where 1 note is each note is a record in the database, prayer lists are different, the whole prayerlist is is in a single record, the bigger it grows the longer it will take to rewrite and refresh, combined with the syncing process.. slowdown of larger files whhle editing is inevitable

true but I guess we are pushing them to the limits of their design

Yes, I had noticed that when I'd tried to figure out why two records had become unsalvageable.

I will readily admit to using the Prayer Lists in a manner that appears to be unintended by Logos. But the way they appear to expect them to be used is of absolutely no use to me - especially the answer function, made even more useless by the assumption that an answer closes off the prayer. And it seems to me that if they provide an annual option, it ought to process a year's worth of prayers easily.

True, but I think software is more appropriate to prayer types other than intercessions and petitions. I don't need a computer to remember my concerns. I do need a computer to remind me of thanks, praise and renewal.
