library keep growing but i didn't buy any new resources????

Hi everybody

i have noticed over the last week that my library keeps growing but i have not purchased any new resources and there is nothing new showing up in my order history?

it has gone from 1001 to 1007 a few days ago and then today it is 1008.

i don't mind that i am getting resources but i can't find why it's happening and i don't know what the resources are.

any ideas?

i have a related question. Is there any way of knowing what resources may be added to the base packages. For example, the Hebrew Pronunciation Guide. I have the Scholars library. Do I buy this resource as pre-pub, or wait for it to be included in the Scholars list? How can I know whether it will be included?

One thing you can do for the future has been suggested often in the forums and is helpful, is to give every resource in your library a one star rating. Then if you suspect new resources, you can just enter rating:0.

As a general principle if everybody waited for something to be included in package rather than purchasing on pre-pub, then nothing would actually get off pre-pub. There is no guarantee or timetable for any resource on pre-pub being added to package. I don't believe even Logos really no the answer to that question at this point. You are best to order it now while on pre-pub. If it is later added to a package your purchase of it now will be taken into consideration when you purchase that package.

You can check what recent resources have downloaded by going to your Resources folder (in Windows, right click on the Logos icon and select "Open folder location" then navigate to the subfolder "Data/{random}/Resource Manager/Resources" and view it sorted by Date Modified (View > Details, then click on the Date Modified column header). The most recently downloaded files will show up at the top.

If you can't tell what a resource is from its filename, open Logos, and in the command box type LLS: followed immediately (no space after the colon) by the filename (just the first part before the dot); do not hit enter, just pause a moment. The dropdown menu will show the name of the resource for this filename.

I believe that the "Date Modified" column shows the date modified on your system, not the last date that Logos modified the files. Once they are downloaded onto your machine, they get timestamped with the date/time you downloaded them, not the date/time they were last saved on the Logos servers.

None of my download purchases from last year to recently have a date modified that resembles the date of purchase!

NB. 2x NAC + 3 x Pulpit were updated on 4/12/09; all at version 3/11/09! So I can deduce when resources were updated on my system.

We'd all like to know the secret of growing our library without purchasing anything [:)]

What this thread and the ensuing discussion highlights

1) Need to see what is being downloaded before it is downloaded - at the very least its a courtesy the customer letting them know how Logos intends to modify their system. I can not come up with any valid argument that Logos should not show this basic respect to their customers.

2) Available fields in library browser need to include: Date/ Time file last modified and Date/Time file download/incorporated into the user's resource database.
