Notes - link to references

How do I make Bible references within a note link to the Scripture? For example, from a note on Genesis 1:3: "Intertextual question: Read John 1:1-14 in light of Genesis 1:1-2:3. " ... how do I make the reference to John a link?
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

In a note file you just need to type in the reference and when you hit a space after it the hyperlink will be made.
If you paste in text with a reference you may need to place your cursor at the end of the reference and hit the space bar and a link will be made.
The reference should change colors.
to execute the hyperlink in edit more (while you can edit the note) you will need to CTRL+Click the link.
If you click to another note and scroll back back you can then hover over the note and click it to execute it.

Thanks. I am finally getting the links - but only if I have only the citation on the line. I apparently have something set wrong. At least I now know how to get the link and what to look for to get it working correctly.

Trey, I'm not getting the notes to create links. I am searching for a way to do just that and it's not doing it. I read your post above about simply hitting the space bar and I'm not getting it to work....I'm using L4 MAC BETA 10Any ideas?

I can't speak from experience regarding the MAC (BTW: My sympathy for your being stuck with that), but I had considerable problem with notes in the Windows version. That is a good part of the reason that I still have and use L3. I discovered that part of the problem was that I was using the old L3 method of clicking on the link rather than <ctrl-click>. Then there is the new method of creating links in the first place. Those who are speaking of bible references are speaking of a different animal entirely. In L4 you need to click on the book icon in the upper left of the resource to which you wish to link and then click on URL then highlight the text where you wish to create the link, insert the URL in the "Hyperlink" box and then click on an area in the text to set the URL. It's a rather cumbersome process -- much more involved than the L3 method (Hint: bring it back). Perhaps I'm not speaking to your question, but try it anyway.

I initially had that trouble also.

Well, actually I am a Mac user by choice, LOL - not stuck at all man! Thanks for the info, it's helpful...kind of... Your words were helpful, but too cumbersome for me to really mess with - thanks.

Any ideas?I am sorry I don't use the Mac version and don't keep up with the changes taking place in that area.
But to create a link in Notes on the Windows platform you can do one of two things (maybe more ways if I thought longer).
For Bible References simply type the reference and when you type a space after the reference the text will turn blue indicated a link to your favorite Bible has automatically been made. You should also be able to see the link code in the notes tool bar - the box on the far right that has Hyperlink in the box.
To create a link from any resource
navigate to the location you want to link to
From the panes resource icon drop down menu (upper left icon of that particular pane) choose Copy location as: URL or make sure URL is selected and you can use the short cut keystroke CTL + ALT + V
This will copy the link to your clipbaord.
Then type and/or select the text in your note go to the Hyperlink box in the notes tool bar and past the link there.
The text should change colors indicating it is now linked text.
Hope that helps!
