Russian resources

I am sorry for my English...

I very much like your software
product Logos 4. The functionality put in him, surpasses all that was
known to me earlier. And the volume of materials which is accessible in
Logos, can fill requirements of each Christian on his any spiritual way.
And this with the fact that every day the quantity of materials
increases.

Considering all it, I very much would like to use the given product,
but.... As you have already noticed I don't know English also all riches
offered Logos, grows dim. A maximum than I can use: one Bible
translation and parallel places. Neither dictionaries, nor lexicons of
Stronga won't be accessible to me because of a language barrier. And I
think that I am not lonely.

Studying resources of your site, I have noticed that Logos is accessible
in several languages. Russian, unfortunately, isn't present. But time
is materials in other languages, means there are people which it are
engaged. I first thought to get a base package, to receive toolkit for
creation of own modules and by that to fill insufficiency of materials.
But has understood that with his help I can't realize dictionaries,
Lexicons. Only books . To spend for such possibilities the money I
isn't ready.

And I have thought, I can I can take part on a voluntary basis initially
in filling insufficiency of materials in Russian? I am ready to contact
legal owners of materials, and using the small knowledge in C # and
XML, to prepare materials in a kind convenient for you that subsequently
they have appeared in Logos.

That I can offer initially:

    * 5 Bible translations in Russian without Synod transfer
    * the Greek and Jewish lexicon of Stronga in Russian (Bob Jones University)
    * 6 bible dictionaries
    * 5 comments to the Writing text

    * about three tens books

It is necessary to contact only legal owners and to agree about the corresponding license.

Welcome to the forums. I hope someone at Logos will answer you soon (today though is a holiday in North America).

Your English is really quite good and understandable. One thing though (an English lesson while you're waiting), you are not lonely, (I hope), but not ALONE. Lonely would mean you are feeling deserted by everyone. Alone means you are the only one with this problem.

Anyway, I hope Logos is able to use you.

be able to devote time to licensing and processing Russian resources in
the future.

Vladimir, don't give up too quickly. Keep pressing for what is needed in Russian. Also, you may wish to explore ways to help this project move forward. Bellingham, Washington, where Logos has its headquarters, and near Bellingham there is a large Russian community from which Logos could find capable editors.It's possible they have someone from Russian descent on their staff, if not someone who speaks Russian.

One of the things Logos is known for is creative thinking, planning, and implementing. In other words, just because they have a plan, does not mean that they will never deviate from it. Perhaps they could try one resource. then another, and so forth. Typically Bibles are among the easiest to work with, since they do not link to other resources, so I suggest another Bible.

It might be good to find out who was behind getting Synodal Translation to the Logos about a year ago. It is tagged with the Strong's numbers, so it looks there are people who can work in Russian language connected to Logos.

On the other hand, Vladimir, let me say my opinion to the resources in non-English languages. The reality is that most of the best and newest resources are published in English these days. If we are not speaking about the historical unique resources in other languages, most of the commentaries, lexicons, Bible encyclopedias etc. will be in English. Let's face it.

Bible translations are the exception. They have to be in Logos, all of them, how many they are. No pastor would accept IMHO a software without his preferred translation available in that platform. It would be great if Logos would make your main Russian Bible Translation available with the Reverse Interlinear underlying text. That would give any pastor or student ability to go directly to the original text study, access to all lexicons etc. IMHO that would be more valuable thing than having a few public domain works in Russian language put to Logos. Of course having both would be the best [:)]
