Sync - what does it actually do?

User data such as the following is synced from your computer to Logos servers:

• Licenses
• Preferences and custom settings
• Collections
• Prioritizations
• Note files
• diagrams
• clippings
• Highlighting
• Bookmarks
• Prayer lists
• Last-read location
• etc

This data is then synced among all your machines (and even library.logos.com and the iPhone app) to make work across machines seamless. Furthermore, it makes installing Logos onto a new computer a snap as all of your books, user files, and preferences are automatically imported and downloaded.

There has been some concern among users about the privacy of this system. There ahve been no known instances of anybody stealing personal information using Logos sync. Alternatively, you could set internet use to "no" and then not have any of your data backed up or synced.

Possible benefit for one computer is reinstalling Logos 4 after hard disk failure - sync information downloaded along with resources.

Another possibility is running PC version in virtual machine on Mac - two Logos 4 libraries on one computer.

You can't yet access your note files, clippings, or prayer lists (or highlights or a number of other things) on iPhone yet. But your prioritizations are honored on iPhone (& mobile web). iPhone will sync your furthest read location. Also, your reading plans are synced across machines.
