Help - Logos 4 (windows vista) not working

New to Logos ... clueless and technologically challenged.

When I try to open logos, i get an error message "Logos Bible Software 4 has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Window will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Anyone with ideas about what i need to do to expedite windows finding a solution for me?

Have you tried opening Logos again ? Don't wait for windows to notify you of a solution this is a standard courtesy message.

Lavinia, the first step in the diagnosis process is to Enable Diagnostic Logging, capturing a crash and the upload those Logs to the forum

A question in preparation, do you have Logos set to open to the Homepage or to your last used layout?

I know it is not the answer that you want to hear, but it sounds as if a file(s) were corrupted on install. I would suggest doing a complete uninstall and reinstall to try and fix things. For more information you can see this thread: How to do a fresh reinstall

Before you re-install,take the steps on this page: http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_Not_Starting

If that doesn't work, then upload your logs and we'll see if we can help.

Re-installing is a last resort - we're not there quite yet.

A log is a text document created by a program that records what a program does. It is also the place where specific error messages are written. It is thus an excellent aid when troubleshooting. What we are looking for are these two files logos4.log and logos4crash.txt. The link I gave you above will give you instruction on how to find them once you've enabled logging.
