Passage Guide linking to primary Bible and chain links

First if this has been covered elsewhere I apologize as I haven't found it.

To the point, is there any way in L4 B4 and beyond to when you run a report that the Bible passage will get linked to your preferred Bible?

Also it doesn't seem that all of the chain links work in L4 B1-4 because I setup a layout and linked a group of Bibles together and some will chain link and others don't. Could this be caused by a resource not being optimized for L4?

In Christ,

Ken

    Hi Kenneth,

If you enter a passage on the Home Page, your preferred Bible, and other resources and reports, will open to that passage. The resources will all be linked to Set A, as well as the Text Comparison report, however, the Passage Guide is not linked automatically.  This is to prevent the information in the Passage Guide from changing if you were to click on a cross reference in your Bible or commentary, for instance. You can choose to set the Passage Guide to Set A as well, though, and you can save that layout.

Are the Bibles losing their link set after closing and reloading the layout?  Has the layout been saved after linking them?

    Thanks,
    Melissa

Melissa, thank you for the quick feed back. I have a saved layout called "My Study" that I have several Bibles chain linked to A and a passage guide on the layout as well. My thought was that if I entered something in the Passage Guide on my layout it should enter that in my preferred Bible. I wouldn't really want to link it to A as if I scroll pass the initial passage when studying it would change the Passage Guide. Not a good answer. There should be an option to tell Passage guide to open the preferred Bible to that reference.

As for the other point, I have saved the layout with the Link 'A' saved. But if I go to another reference in a Bible with the link, not all of the Bibles change (which it did in L3). Right now I don't have that system with me, but I can upload some screenshots showing what I am seeing, if that would help.

There may be a link to open preferred Bible from Passage Guide in a future release.

When you're in front of your computer, just tell me which books or other panels are open and linked in your layout so I can try to reproduce it.

    Thanks, Melissa

Well Melissa, I updated to Beta 5 and tried to reproduce it again and send a screenshot and it seems to be working now. I'll see if I can et to a place of reproducing it again and let you know.

Just to let you know the chaining was almost instantaneous, unlike before where it seemed to take awhile before there was any updating.
