BUG 4.1 RC2: default font size does not affect open resources

When I change the Default Text Size in Program Settings, the size of the resources that are open is not changed. If I open a new resource it uses the new default size.The font size of Program Settings and Library window (which I keep open at all times) is changed.

This is a change in behavior. I change the font size during classroom teaching and I want all open resources to be affected. I don't want to change the program scaling, because I want to focus on the text, not the toolbars.

I hope this gets fixed before 4.1 is released.

I'm not able to reproduce this problem in 4.1 RC2. I've tested with the same font (Times New Roman) and size (200, as well as others), with linked resources, and layouts, and still cannot get the same result. I wonder if any one else is seeing this?

Melissa ... I think I might have been able to reproduce it. The program settings seems to be a lower priority than the size of the font associated with the resource. In other words, if I leave my resources all at the default font size, the 200% enlargement works. However, if I change the font size in a resource, before selecting a 200% enlargement, L4 ignores the 200% and still displays the size that was picked in the resource.

I wish I knew how to clip copies of the progam to give you some pictures ... but the menu I'm looking for disappears every time I run the snipping tool.

Thank you for your input. That is indeed correct, and is probably what is happening in this case. If I increase the text size, using the slider in the resource, to 120% for example, when I change the Default Text Size in Program Settings to 200%, that resource remains at 120%. In order to get it to 200%, I have to move the slider up to the 200% mark. (The default size from Program Settings is indicated on the slider by a longer mark.) Once the slider is back on the default mark, it will again change when I change the Program Setting.

I did not change the font size for the affected resources. The odd thing is that when I exited the program and started it again with the same layout, the enlarged Default Text Size worked fine.
