Last time I checked on my pre-pubs, a week or two ago, I had about $300 coming out in October. Today I checked and it's over $1,000! Good thing I looked before I decided to buy that new refrigerator.
Thanks for the heads up - I have got caught before. I am lucky so far with only $19.95 in product coming out next month for me.
Looks like I've got three CP items coming at $5 plus another for $19, I think I might be able to swing that.

TED!!!! I just learned something! Thank you!!!!!! [Y]
Too late for me! I have an electrician in my home getting ready to upgrade my service panel to 250 amp. (That will not be cheap.) Wish I had an early warning about 6 weeks back.
When I saw the 11/8/2010 ship date posted for Göttingen Septuagint (65 Vols.) http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/4951 I had hoped we were in a new era of early warnings for Pre-Pub realease. Apparently this is not the case. I see a 10/5/2010 ship date for Anchor Yale Bible Reference Library (29 Vols.) http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/5732
What's a fellow to do? Adequate heating for the little children or neat new books in my library? Such hard choices. [:|]

I, too, would love it if Logos "stalled" a bit on Anchor Yale Bible Reference. My finances could use a bit of a break!
Logos, I have yet to cancel a pre-pub at the last minute! *smile* If you could slow things down just a little bit, I won't have to.
Is it true what Doris Day used to sing? Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)
As much as I want the Anchor Bible Reference Library, I will probably have to cancel as well. I was looking forward to reading several of the resources. I have had the opportunity to hear some of the scholars speak in person, especially James Charlesworth. I got to spend a week hearing him lecture on the Dead Sea Scrolls several years ago. But this resource will probably have to wait.
Can you use the payment plan to offset these charges? I know that sales is pretty flexible. I would give them a call.
Payment plans are not available through prepubs, if this were to change I would take advantage of it.
As would I!
I would call - I was able to use the payment plan as the Zondervan stuff came off of pre-pub. I know that the Zondervan books were a bit different, but it can't hurt to call.
You can still pre-order some of the resources separately, even if you have to cancel the big collection: Charlesworth is $90, Brown is $120, and Meier is $160.
You can still pre-order some of the resources separately,
that is what I had to do.
Whoa! Thanks for the heads up. I suddenly have $2500 coming out in the next couple of months! Glad to see they've nearly finished a bunch of stuff I've been waiting for, but it would have been nice to have it paced a bit more evenly. On the other hand, when I've got nearly $25K in pre-pub orders, it's hard to imagine how "evenly" they could spread that all out and still not whack me with a big bill at least once along the way. Otherwise they'd have to put some of it off indefinitely. I just need to learn to say "no" more often to the things I'd like to buy.

Ouch. It's similar for me - and I've only just come off the back of a payment plan. I'm going to have to cancel Richard Baxter and hope to pick him up on academic pricing later. I'd like to postpone the Septuagint as well, but I got in at $300 and it's already up to $350…

Thanks for the advise. I will have to decide what resources I want to purchase separately.
This is a great link! I don't have anything coming out for about a month but my list is very small. :-)

Add more blankets! Toughen them up for adult life. [8-|]
Just checked again http://www.logos.com/prepub/shipdate . 32 Pre-Pub to ship in one month![:'(][:(][:O] I sure hope that more is not yet to come!
Mine jumped from one book for $19.95 to five books for $48.00 in less than a week. I am going to have to check this more often if changes are going to come this fast. I can manage this - but a few of my pre-pubs would cause me grief if they were to come between now and Christmas.[:O]
I just need to learn to say "no" more often
Since saying "no" is also an important skill in ministry, I think Logos should definitely make a book on this topic available! Does anyone know of a resource to help develop this skill?
I'm hoping that for some technical reason the Richard Baxter collection will be delayed until the next year. Now that they've also added the Studies on Daniel Collection and a few more puritan titles my book budget is almost gone.
According to my calculations the 275+ resources being released in October is still more than 50 resources shy of the 4000 / year mark. Fortunately, I've shown some restraint in my purchases ... but there are still a few that it hurts to not be able to justify picking up.[:'(]
I suddenly have $2500 coming out in the next couple of months!
My heart really bleeds for you Rosie...[:P]
Glad you are in a position to pickup so many great titles...a little envious [:$], but I'll get over it. I'll get the titles I need as I "really" need them. You ought to post what you are getting so people can ask for your opinion [:D].

The list of releases has grown since yesterday. So had to do another culling, to remove those I really like cause I want to go into that topic someday, but will have to get tougher in the coming weeks if they release more.
One point to be aware of though if you are making some tough choices, be careful you don't drop a CP title that is going out the door for around $5 ... don't drop those by accident. There are a few of those amongst the list of titles being released.
You ought to post what you are getting so people can ask for your opinion
Rosie is way too busy buying, cataloging her collection, and answering posts on the forums to actually read any of these resources. [:O]

My $1000 is now $1200. Wonder how Rosie's doing? [:O]
Right on, Andrew. If this keeps up I will only have the cheapo CP titles left.
I could go out and collect pop cans for recycling......... maybe sell another car? drop a cell phone? lose the internet?!
I am running out of budget cuts.

Quite so. I started reading N.T. Wright's The New Testament and the People of God a few months ago, got to page 65 and haven't had time to read any further. That's not to say I haven't read anything, because I do read little snippets here and there when I'm studying a passage or a topic. But as far as actually reading straight through any of the resources I've been buying...not happening.
But since Kenneth asked what I've got coming in pre-pub that's shipping within the next month or so, here it is:
Total cost: $2735.70 (I got in early on some of the pre-pubs or it would have been more).
The only thing I'm considering dropping is the Göttingen Septuagint.
So it looks as though I'm going to be doing a lot of tagging in the coming weeks...
Give the kids a blanket and by the books[6]

You know what they say about once the snowball gets rolling down the hill, Rosie. Yikes.
The trick is to keep a grip on your snowball. If it doesn't get out of hand it can't get to "Yikes!"
My melt-down in the Pre-Pub list:

Off Topic - Matthew, what happened to your post count? Did you post so many the counter rolled over?
The current forum software resets the post count to zero when you change your sign-in email on the Logos.com server. It is a temporary thing (unless the forum Godfather wants to keep it that way. You can't get paranoid about the numbers unless you wake up with a horse head nearby missing your favorite racehorse.) [;)] edited for family reading

A model of self-control. A couple of cheeseburgers and a latte. You can still afford to feed and clothe the family! Sacrifices, sacrifices.

The problem is that Horsehead is nearby - Horsehead, New York, that is.[:)]
Mine's getting closer to that, I'm working on it, but just can't let go of the new pillar commentaries.
I just need to learn to say "no" more often to the things I'd like to buy. I've been working on this discipline (by force LOL) and it's not as easy as it sounds when "ThatBookYouJustGottaHave" is only $199. <sigh />
I used to buy my books as I began a new study or preaching series. Now I tend to buy them at the pre-pub prices because I've convinced myself that I'm saving money in the long run (especially if they are books that I intended to purchase anyway). Just checked my pre-pubs coming out for October and saw that it jumped from $50 to $190. Oh, boy.
What's funny is that today's my birthday and as my wife left for work this morning she told me that she didn't get me a present because she thought that I might want to buy a few books. And almost in the same breath reminded me not to forget that my son's next orthodontic appointment is next Wednesday and we have a payment due.
Lord, give me strength!
Happy birthday, Daniel!
I have two books coming out next month, total $10. I am trying to stay away from book purchases because I am working on getting a passport to take my first out of country mission trip!! I'm very excited. [:D]

Thank you.
When are you leaving for your trip?
I would like to go to Haiti the day after Christmas if I can get my passport and paperwork done. Either way, I'm also planning to go to Nicaragua in February for my birthday. They are both 8 day trips.
Oh dear dear![:(] Understanding Theology (3 Vols.) and The 5-volume Expositor’s Greek Testament, two more items added to the shipping page. Too many Pre- Pub (about 40 in total to ship) in one month & I am not sure which to let go off now[:'(].
Today a US passport is expensive, compared to 1979!
My daughter just got her passport in preparation for a student exchange program. She had it expedited and spent $240 on it. That would buy several good Pre-Pubs shipping this month.
My home improvement projects gutted my October Pre-Pub hopes. It is so painful to watch Anchor Yale Bible Reference Library http://www.logos.com/products/prepub/details/5732 count down to shipping that I am trying to avoid looking at the Pre-Pub page for now.
Oh, no! Don't look again! The Ancient Christian Commentary series just got added, shipping 10/15.
If you have the Volume 1 of this set, and didn't get an e-mail offering upgrade pricing, contact a Logos sales rep. The upgrade pricing will ease the pain if you want the full set of this series (providing you own volume 1).

I have volume 1 and didn't get an email; I hope the discount is significant or I will have to pass on this offer, too many pre-pubs this month for my budget. And like Matthew, my home improvement projects have really cut into my available funds.

In another thread people have said they've been able to contact their sales rep and get the offer that was mentioned in the email that apparently didn't make it out to everyone it should have. So just contact sales and they can tell you what the discount will be fore you.
Thank you for the reminder. I called sales today and got the price. I'm still going to wait a bit and see if anything else changes in the Pre-pub picture before making my final decision.
Sometimes you just have to say no to yourself [:D]
