If you really must remove books from your system (it generally doesn't hurt to keep them around), you can drag them into the "Hidden Resources" section in Program Settings.

Not quite true. The more resources you have, the longer Logos will take to run searches, guides, and do things like populate Power Lookup or the Parallel Resource menu. Removing one or two resources isn't going to make a notable difference, but removing 100 might.
