Why are downloads so slow?
Since moving to "the cloud" downloads seem to be far slower than they used to be for both L4 and L3. I believe that someone said Logos is using Amazon's cloud. Is this just he nature of cloud computing? It looks like it will be an hour or more to download the 417MB currently coming through. My connection should be able to handle several GBs an hour so the problem must be with the cloud. Is this temporary while everyone is so busy downloading resource updates or will this continue?

I've noticed the same thing. Last week there was a large download that took over 24 hours to complete whereas at my normal speed it should have taken about 40 minutes.
Longtime Logos user (more than $30,000 in purchases) - now a second class user because I won't pay them more every month or year.

Same here. I especially noticed it yesterday with Beta5.

last week it took 6 hours for 1.9 GB to reach Oz or 324 MB/hr
This week 1.2 GB took 3.5 hours or 350 MB/hr, except it seemed faster!

Yesterday (last night) and this morning I was average just about 1MByte (not 1Mbit) per second. In fact - as I have been given a pre-release copy of Windows 7 (for hosting a Windows 7 party!!! Woohooo!) - I did a complete install of itg and started Logos 4 from scratch again. I was able to download Beta 1, then update to Beta 5. The Beta 5 download was about 2.6 Gigs and I was able to download it in less than an hour. That was FAST!!!

The download for Beta 6 was smoking fast so it seems the cloud has started raining buckets or something. Whatever happened, it's a great improvement!
