OK, I know I used to be able to search the forums. This doesn't seem to be working anymore. Has something changed, moved, or am I just losing my mind?
When I try using "Search this site" ... I get no results on searches that I know should return results (like "Bible", for example).
I never use Logos' search, I always use an advanced Google search. Just do a google search for:
[your search term] site:community.logos.com
Or you can download a Google Chrome extension for your toolbar to "search this site", which is a little simpler, at this address.
Search the current site - Google Chrome extension gallery
BTW, I had previously gone on line and followed directions to modify my search engine so that I could type in CS and could then search the current site. Does anyone know which one of these three methods mentioned is the best or more accurate, or they essentially the same? If they are basically the same I would think the tool bar addin is the easiest to use.
thank you ... using Google search works, but I wonder why the search on the forum page doesn't work like it used to
Something is clearly broken. I'll alert the developers. But indeed Google searching has always been more flexible than using the forum's minimal search feature. Here's more about how to search the forums with Google: http://wiki.logos.com/Using_the_Forum#Searching_the_forum_using_Google
You were right - something had changed. A default on the search server had changed and the forums search queries needed to be updated to reflect this.
And the results are actually slightly improved as a result of the default being changed, so feel free to resume searching at will.
