After installing Beta 6 it spent a considerable time going throught Phase 1 and 2 before opening the application. Is this normal? (it is now downloading 1.2 GB as expected).

Log attached.

Yes; Beta 6 will force your library to be re-prepared (which could take a long time); this is a one-time event that will happen the first time you run Beta 6.

I had to restart L4 for it to pick up anything...it then decided to download 1.2G of resources... after that (a few hours laters) system tray indicated there are updates to install so I clicked on install update... that was nearly an hour ago and it is stll sitting on stage 1 preparing library... I am not see the fast speeds on install for this beta others seem to be getting.... I had a completely fresh install of b5 on a new machine on the weekend, no new resources added since then so I am not sure why this is taking so long either .....
