Same here....I almost went into melt down because of the number of errors and the time it was taking...my nerves have never been quite the same since L4 indexing came into my life...[+o(]

Dave,
My update went fine by starting with a 1.1 GB download and a very fast indexing, then a 586MB download came in and I thought this is "great' no more long overnight indexing as it added 3 resources...then the other shoe dropped...my system then informed me that it was re-indexing my 1,218 resources. I was quite bummed [:(] that a full index was occuring. I hate to think of you folks that have larger libraries then I do. I was hoping this wasn't going to be the case this time.

Last night when the "preparing your library" message went away and I didn't see the blue icon in the system tray I thought that I was good to go. When I saw Dave's post about the new nag screen on the search menu, I quickly started a search and got the same message.......So here we go again!

Actually, this is supposed to be the good news. This means your new resources have been indexed separately in the supplemental index, and will be presented as "New Resources" in your search hits, and gives YOU control over when we start the full re-indexing that will integrate the whole thing.

Bob,
The way you explain it, it is good news. But the message says "they have not been integrated into the library index" led me to believe I needed to click the "start indexing" to be able to use the search functions. Perhaps different wording would help here.

Yes, this wording is confusing. (It was added at the last moment on Saturday afternoon and didn't have a lot of review.) We will probably reword it in Beta 7, and perhaps move it into the "New Resources" section, so that it only shows up when your search actually involves the supplemental index.

Did you click the "Start indexing now" link (in Dave's screenshot), or did the system just decide to reindex automatically?

Oh based on the wording I am sure I hit the start indexing now, hmmm forgot that bit. But pretty sure you hit the nail on the head Bradley. Glad to hear that a wording review will take place for the next Beta.

Sorry, Bob. didn't mean it that way. I understood what it meant, BUT I really had to think over what had been said in the Release Notes & elsewhere to understand it was an advisory notice. The horriblis is that it takes valuable space away from search results and the link may be accidentally hit.
Bradley has indicated putting it with "New Resources", which may be fine as long as that section is NOT expanded by default, especially when there are zero results. I prefer it as an option in Tools where it will be a more appropriate nag and not prone to accidental selection.

Agreed - the same way that automatic downloads operates.
