Moriah linked to temple site - can anyone explain?

WBC: Based on 2 Chr 3:15, “the district of Moriah” has been identified with the temple site in Jerusalem;

I can find no mention of Moriah there. A search of MORIAH NEAR temple brought up 2 more references, which also didn't seem to mention Moriah. I know Muslims identify Temple site with sacrifice of Ibrahim's son, and read a post (MJ SMITH?) saying that Jewish tradition links Moriah with temple, if I remember rightly.

Can anyone help me, either with info, or with instructions for doing a search to enlighten me?

This is definitely Logos connected, as the question arises from a Logos resource!

It looks like a typo in WBC (I don't know whether in the print version or just in the Logos version).

As you know this comes from WBC Volume 2 commenting on Genesis 22:2. When I looked at it, it went on to say:

Based on 2 Chr 3:15, “the district of Moriah” has been identified with the temple site in Jerusalem; Kalimi argues that this tradition antedates Chronicles (HTR 83 [1990] 350). But since Moriah is mentioned only in these two passages,

Gordon J. Wenham, vol. 2, Word Biblical Commentary : Genesis 16-50, Word Biblical Commentary, 104 (Dallas: Word, Incorporated, 2002).

I picked up on the reference to Moriah only being mentioned in "two passages" and did a Bible search for Moriah (in the ESV)

One was in Gen 22:2 and the other was in 2 Chronicles 3:1

Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

The Holy Bible : English Standard Version., 2 Ch 3:1 (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001).

So the WBC reference should say "Based on 2 Chr 3:1"
