Try this. It's not the easiest to get to a specific word, but it can be done.

Zondervan has two resources of which I am aware.
A two CD set entitled Old Testament Hebrew Vocabulary by Jonathan Pennington.
Basics of Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary by Gary Pratico and Miles Van Pelt.
Pennington's CDs are available at various places online and include words that occur twenty times or more in Hebrew Bible arranged according to frequency.
The Basics of Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary is intended to be a companion to with the author's Grammar and is arranged according to the chapters of their textbook. It is available on the iTunes store.
I am not sure if this might also answer a bit of a question....
I have on pre-pub order since 2007 a Hebrew Pronuciations addin for Logos. It seems they have had some trouble getting this addin to work.

I have the Greek version and I'd say it was worth the minimal
cost.

Hi WIlliam,
Thanks for your response! I have had that add-in on order too, I notice at the moment it says only for 3.0 but that would be a start. I suspect the technology for doing this in 4.0 is much different than 3.0, so the fact the add-in won't work in 4.0 is not a surprise. I hope it comes out soon though!
I think the Hebrew pronunciation add-in might be close to production now.

I have not been impressed at all with that set. I haven't used it for several years now, but I remember it being very inconsistent. Some letters not usually pronounced according to the "original" ancient manner *are* pronounced anciently (i.e. dalet with no dagesh is pronounced like the th in "the"), but others are not (kaph without dagesh is still pronounced as a k).
That said, I'm not aware of anything better.

Yeah, I too ordered this addin in 2007 and then got frustrated waiting on it. I've just reordered it! Let's hope they get it out soon. I have another bible application (I understand I can't mention competitors in this forum -- maybe their initials won't get me in any trouble -- WS) that has Hebrew pronunciation capability. I use that a lot but since I'm not trained in Hebrew I have no way of evaluating it. It doesn't pronounce all the words but it serves my limited purpose right now. I've got my fingers crossed for a really soon delivery.... [:P]
Here's a couple of posts that explain some of the problems:

I know the Bible Word Study under Lemma only pronounces Greek at this time. Is there any resource or way to hear pronunciations of Hebrew? I am learning and I would love to hear how words I research are pronounced. Thanks!
Check out the online Hebrew Audio Old Testament: http://www.zalag.net/OTstudies/Hebrew%20Audio.htm
That wouldn't give you lemma pronunciations, but it is cool to be able to hear the Hebrew Scriptures read aloud. Hopefully someday Logos will introduce a Hebrew Audio Old Testament to go along with the existing Greek Audio New Testament.

Mark,
That post does look extremely encouraging.
I wonder now if we can obtain any further guesses as to how close this might be. I had another fine use for it today - but alas I didn't have it. :-/
Yeah .... I know, dates will not be forthcoming, lest they breeze past them. But ... but.... please? Something?

We continue to wait...and wait...and wait...did I mention waiting patiently for this awesome addition? [:P]. Well I am sure it will be great once we have it.

I too would like very much to have Hebrew pronunciations. I am a pastor and have a global ministry... have a Jewish background and want to learn to hear the Hebrew words in my studies. I possess the Wordsearch 9 application as well as Logos 4 on mac, but to my knowledge neither applications support speech (yet) on Mac. The Wordsearch does this or used to provide this on PC's. Clicking the word in Strongs did the job.
Now that I have changed over to Mac, I can't do this any more.
Please hurry up Logos!

I was wondering about this again today. In the vain hopes that we'll get an actual update.
Any news?
