You will not be able to access all of your library. Logos is still not licensed to offer all of its resources via modes other than the desktop Logos. I have about 75% of my resources available.

2. Have access to send and recieve emial.

3. Be able to access the Internet.

This is stock standard in both the iPad and iPod Touch

4. Syncronize my computers with the I-Pad/Pod or whatever.

Not sure what you mean by this.

No need to purchase anything else. Just download the free Logos App.

2011 is going to be the year of the tablet / tablet computer.  You might want to wait a bit longer to see how this looks when the smoke settles.  The I-Pad is not a true computer but many are happy with the Logos 4 app.  You can see most but not all your library on it and most, but not all of Logos 4 capabilities.  Even the I-Pad will get an upgrade soon.  Some are waiting for a review on the HP Slate 500 tablet to see how it runs Logos 4.  It is more of a true computer and uses Windows 7.  There are other much more powerful tablets at a higher cost, but may not be as portable.  I am not sure if the IPad syncs with other computers or not, but email and internet are available.

Which is the better of the two I-Pad/I-Pod for L4?

I own both. I rarely used the iPod Touch for Logos because I find the screen too small (I also don't use it for Kindle Books very often).

I use the iPad with great regularity for Logos.

Which is better is like asking which is better a school bus or a sports car. The question is what do you plan to do? If you are just concerned about using Logos as your primary purpose, the iPad is the best. If money is a concern then what is your budget? If you can afford $500 then still the iPad is the best. But if not, then the iPod Touch is the best. The iPad gives you more room to view your content on screen.

John, it sounds a bit like you have not researched the iPad/iPod system enough to be ready to purchase. I have both and find that as a reader the iPad is terrific. The iPod is too small to comfortably read for any length of time.  When I am reading a book cover to cover I use the iPAD.  If I need to take notes or want to highlight the current version of the iPAD app cannot do these so I have to fall back onto the "real" LOGOS  (the MAC or Windows version, I have both).   Eventually the iPad app will probably have all of the resources available, but it does not now. Then again, it will probably never be able to run the entire LOGOS program, searching and other heavy duty tasks will always be out of its reach.  The iPad is less than 1/5th the power of the least powerful computer that can run LOGOS at all, much less reasonably fast.

Regarding your other needs. the iPad is in many ways superior for checking e-mail, web surfing and generally using the internet compared to a desktop. I often use it to check e-mail even if I am sitting in front of my desktop. As an on-the-go connection to your on-line life it shines. As an only computer, no way.

Just to add to the input of the other posters above, I also was trying to decide between the iPad and the iPod Touch for a long time.  I felt pretty sure I was going to get the Touch, for budget and portability reasons.  But when I went to the Apple store to try both of them out, I found that I was not able to read the Touch screen very well (I'm in my late 40s) and also I was almost unable to type anything accurately (and I don't have big fingers).

I eventually bought an iPad (unfortunately two weeks before they went on sale on Black Friday).  It was very much worth every dime of it.  

Other than the obviously larger screen that everyone mentions, one other advantage of the iPad wasn't obvious to me until I started using it for a few days:

The larger screen allows you to quickly glance through the content and decide what to read in more detail and what to skim through.  I previously used the Pocket PC and the Blackberry to browse through news items every day.  I find that compared to those devices, I can read a lot more relevant news on my iPad than the smaller screens, and so I'm able to get a lot more "useful" information out of the iPad in a shorter period of time.

Same thing goes for reading ebooks and the Bible on the iPad compared to the smaller screens. The iPad screen is much closer to a real-world paper book reading experience (both single-column portrait and double-column landscape). On the smaller devices, I spend more time scrolling than reading/skimming.

There's a reason why books don't usually come in 3 or 4-inch sizes.

p.s. I do look forward to the improvements to the Logos iPad app in the next version that's currently in beta.

When the dialog box pops up you have to hit the HTML button and then compose your post in the "HTML Source Editor." When done hit the update button and your post will appear in the dialog box, from there you hit post and viola!
