The display of the pages look better, but I have found books take a lot lot longer to load. Also, the Recent Books list no longer seems to work, neither do the reading plans ever seem to be synced.

Still loving this app, and lookng forward to seeing the bugs sorted.

thanks!

the Recent Books list no longer seems to work

It works for me, though it doesn't display the most recent at the top of the list. They seem all jumbled up. Perhaps the books you're looking for are further down in recent books?

neither do the reading plans ever seem to be synced.

I've found these slow, but they do usually turn up. Dave mentioned a few weeks ago that when the servers are busy it can take even longer (particularly after the weekend I recall). I think they're working on it.

Just updated my iPod Touch to 1.5 and I now have "[]" a rectangle to the right of each cross-reference symbol and to the left of footnotes in some bibles (ESV, NRSV, NLT), but not in other bibles (NASB, HSCB, and NET).  Nothing happens when I touch the rectangles.

Is this a feature?  If so, can I turn it off?

    Thanks in advance.

That's the bug on iPhone OS 3.1 mentioned in the Known Issues. We'll have it fixed in the next release.

I have the rectangle in the SBLGNT in iOS 4.2.

The issue in SBLGNT is an issue with fonts and is separate from the issue of boxes appearing next to footnote markers. We'll address the font issue in a later release, but not 1.5.1.

Actually, I really like the small rectangle next to the footnote hyperlinks. It makes it a lot easier to select a footnote when using the touchscreen interface.  If this is a bug, I'd propose that it might be a feature that you want to integrate into the app/content.

The improvement you are seeking could be accomplished with more empty space around the symbols. The rectangles degrade readability, especially with resources with many cross-references and footnotes like the ESV.
