Need to re-download resources?

I was under the impression that we needed to re-download all of our resources because of the new way it is accessing the files from the server.  1.5 still shows that all of my resources are still downloaded.  Do we need to set "make available offline" to OFF and then back ON to download the new version of resources, or did I miss something?

On your Home screen you should see a way to update downloaded resources.

I originally had the new way to download resources on my Home screen. The application coompletely locked up at 731 resources left to download. I contacted Logos support and was told I had the Beta version, and that I needed to delete it, and reinstall the program, and download books individually. I followed directions, and after 36 hours have about half my resources downloaded. The Home page download feature disappeared after I reinstalled the program. I looked at my buddy's program, and both are the same exact version, and he has both download features. Something is very wrong.

The home page provides a way to update already downloaded resources. If you delete the app and reinstall it, there will not be any resources to update. There was a misunderstanding on the part of customer support; you did not have a beta version of the app.

I had to download at least 1,000 out of 2261 resources after the reinsta;;/ I'm still downloading them, and trying to find which ones have not been  installed.

All of my resources finally downloaded (except for The Bible Knowledge Commentary).  It took a while and several times the app seemed to get "stuck" at a certain number.  Sometimes the activity icon would be circling and other times not.  When it wasn't, I would kill and restart the app and it would start downloading again.  I downloaded over 900 resources in about two days.

I understand, but the point I am making is that with a large number of resources it is extremely difficult to  find ones you have not marked for download..  The home page feature is a necessity, and mine is  not working correctly.

Gary, This is why I have advocated for some time to make it possible to put together a collection on the Desktop, that would be available to be synced to the Idevice. Thus you could have all of your resources in this collection, and then it would automatically be synced with your pad or phone, you do nothing once you add the resource.  I can not see how it could get any easier.  Personally, I don't want all of my books on my phone, but I know that many do, but using this method I can change my collection as I chose and have what I need!  I cant see how this would be hard... it just needs to be coded and be a priority.

Kelly, I fully agree. I have spent all morning finding resources on my iPad, and scrolling down through the Library on the iPad can be tough, and expecialy when it keeps jumpiong back to the first books.

Yes Gary, in fact, to me the very worst part of that is the constant jumping back to the beginning of the list... I was just there and selected the very ones that I wanted... why do I need to go back there... let me just continue from where I was!  Or actually, just let me do it on the desktop!

I have over 200 resources that need to be updated after the new 1.5 iPad Logos App upgrade but it keeps locking and stops working. I have tried several times to close the app and start again ... I think it gets stuck because it is trying to download all the books at once and it gets stuck. Perhaps it should be programmed to download 5 at a time and queue the rest?

Any way this can be fixed? I wouldnt have minded clicking each one to update one by one but that functionality doesnt exist as you have to use the "update all" button.

    Any advice?

    Thanks,

You can go into your library, click on the arrow to the right of a resource and then click the "Available Offline" button to OFF and then back to ON.  This will force a download for that particular resource, if you want to do each one, one at a time.  Mine kept getting hung up, but eventually would "catch up".  It would appear that it was not downloading anything, but the numer of resources it was downloading would jump from 375 to 250 all at once, e.g.  A couple of times I had to restart the app and the download, but they all eventually download.  (900+ resources)

The download resources individually is in the library view, and the update all feature is in the home view. HOWEVER, if you dellete and reinstall theapplication the update all feature disappears.
