CP - Tobias Crisp Collection poised and ready

Executing a Logos Community Pricing offering is similar to landing a plane on an aircraft carrier I would think. The idea is to maximize the runway. CP resources above the threshhold have until the next Friday at 12 Noon Bellingham time until bidding is closed and the price stands.
At an hour past noon posting this thread, the Tobias Crisp Collection is ready to break the line, usually activating a flood of last minute bids, which drives down the price as much as possible.
As with all CP resources, if you could see yourself paying $20 there is a great chance it will go for nearly half that if we maximize this next week.
I look forward to Tobias Crisp because I believe the best way to understand diifferent theological views is by hearing or reading it through sermon material. I think Crisp would be a great addition to any theologian's library, especially for the current and potential price.

With six days and the gradual slope on the graph, we might get it to $10.00 or less... [8-|]

I know nothing about Tobias Crisp. What can you tell me to inspire me to up my bid?

Check Out the article at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobias_Crisp). Any guy that suffers great persecution because of his theological convictions is worth reading after, whether I agree with him at the end of the day or not. I often wonder (hope) I wouldn't cave in when pressed about Bible theology.

The link above includes a close parenthese and period (the forum software does that -- very anoying!). Delete those from the URL in your browser address bar, and you'll be good to go.

I tried an internet reference to him, and it turned up a wiki page about someone else! Seems I'm fated to remain ignorant [^o)]

Thank you, Richard - it worked!

As I read wikipedia he also got in trouble for charging for the sacraments (simony) ... that doesn't recommend him in to me. But then again, I wasn't interested before your post made me look him up.

I thought that was strange, as the source for that info is not cited, and other bios I've read (all short) fail to mention it. This one (http://www.ageslibrary.com/authordb/C/crisp.html) says "In 1627 he became rector at Brinkworth, Wiltshire, where he proved to be
very popular because of his godly manner of life, his edifying method
of preaching and his gracious hospitality.... During the civil wars Dr. Crisp aligned with the
Puritan side of the ecclesiastical troubles and was, therefore,
persecuted by royalist soldiers and forced to remove to London." Any charges involving Puritans and the Church of England may have had political overtones during that time in history.MacBook Pro (2019), ThinkPad E540

Richard Baxter, a contemporary of Crisp, and whose works were just published and released in Logos format strongly opposed Crisp on theological grounds. If you have Baxter's works you can find some information in the biographical work that comprises volume one. logosres:baxter01;ref=Page.p_663;off=2428

24 more more hours until bidding closes. I say we can at least make it down to $12.
