Items to Synchronize - never syncs
Since I've installed B7 and finished the first indexing (I haven't merged my new resources) I have a pop up on the sync whirlygig that says I have items waiting to be synchronized. I've clicked the whirlygig and it goes around and tells me it is synchronizing and then stops and tells me there are items waiting to be synchronized. I've entered "Sync now" in the command line thing and it does the same thing. How do I get it to sync these things. I don't want to spend all the time merging indexes and then find I have new resources that need another merge. I also want to know I've got everything before I try things and find issues that the sync'ed things would have fixed or, on the other hand, not found things that the sync'ed things would have caused.

Update: Murphy's law. I tried for 20 minutes and nothing happened. While writing this post, it happened. No more syncing needed. But, the question still could be answered.

My guess is that there was a temporary problem connecting to the server. (The log file, if you still had it, would probably give some useful information.)
I just checked my work email, and the network team sent a notice that there would be a brief outage tonight as they deployed infrastructure changes for Logos 4; you probably just encountered some of that. (While these changes may cause some interruptions to service during the beta period, they should ensure that we can reliably provide service once Logos 4 is released.)

BTW, there are frequent little syncs it seems. Are there frequent little updates being posted throughout the day?

The syncs are uploading data that you've changed (to our servers, and then to your other computers), not downloading new licences or resources. Even scrolling through a resource causes it to update your last-visited position, and then sync that. So just using the program will generate a lot of data that gets synched.
